Always call a ball in 10b...

But she spent all that time considering the safety, and she did misplay it. I think it takes half a second to call a ball and pocket, and the one that happened is the most obvious candidate.

Two of the upcoming WNT ranking events canceled

I see split brackets are becoming more popular around me. You have a high side and a low side. Both sides split the prize fund...but there are often 2-4X as many players on the low side. So it is a much better value proposition for the high side players, who are effectively getting subsidized by...

Two of the upcoming WNT ranking events canceled

Yuma is so remote when I looked at flights I needed a long layover just to get from there to Las Vegas, <300 miles away. Two or three layovers to get anywhere else in the US. I've traveled to Manila for the Reyes Cup, and to Hanoi fir the Hanoi Open. I'm not going to Yuma.

Always call a ball in 10b...

Isn't that situation #3 above? If she had called a different pocket, her opponents still would have the option of putting FSR back in, which they definitely would. So, no difference.

Always call a ball in 10b...

Calling safe is definitely pointless. But calling nothing, what a lot of players do, can also be detrimental.

Always call a ball in 10b...

Great match between Kristina Tkach and Han Yu at the women's Predator event in Austria. Watching it, I got the clearest reminder in a while of why players should always call a ball in 10b, even if they are playing safe. Link to the youtube video of the shot Hill-hill for the first set. Yu...

    Tournament administration fees

At what level? In my area, at the amateur level, I'm trying to remember the last time the TD didn't play in the tournament.

Savannah “The RoadRunner” Easton using a wood shaft?

I don't think CF is any lower deflection than the LD wood shafts, on average. So don't expect any sort of significant performance increase. CF is just easier to clean with less maintenance in general, typically smoother, and more robust--you won't be picking up dings. The hit can often be a a...

    Audience Sharking (Unintentional, but INSANE?)

Yeah, it's environment-dependent as others have mentioned. Definitely at a pro event, suddenly moving around in bright-colored clothing directly behind a shot can be distracting, professional player or not. In a recent league match I had a (new) team do something that was above what I've ever...

You saying you think that was an intentional shark?

    Audience Sharking (Unintentional, but INSANE?)

There is a shot clock. There is no dedicated ref. She might have felt compelled to shoot. It looked like she might have shot the pink lady a dirty look afterward.

    2026 WPBA SOARING EAGLE MASTERS

Hill-hill, Tkach-Filler. Tkach on the 6. Down on her shot. Lady in bright clothing right behind the shot decides that's the exact moment she needs to get up, walk around her chair, then walk back and sit back down. Tkach misses. Filler wins.

Savannah “The RoadRunner” Easton using a wood shaft?

She is 700+ level. Just waiting for Fargo to catch up.

    Buffalo's 1 Pocket Calcutta $$

Definitely Chohan and Compton can be considered specialists. I don't know enough about Lunda or Hall to say for sure. Define specialist? If it's anyone who's best game is 1p then perhaps both of them. Chohan is probably the gold standard for a 1p specialist. As for point bump, well, he's a 777...

    Buffalo's 1 Pocket Calcutta $$

Fargo rating will definitely be correlated with 1p success. But 1p is a different enough game from 10b/9b/8b which probably constitutes well over 90% of the games in FR, that FR can't be assumed to be as accurate as it is for those other games. Guys like Chohan, Lunda, and Hall demonstrate this...
