Pool or Billiards in the Dominican Republic?

I'll be traveling to the Dominican Republic a few days every month for work, and I'm curious if anyone knows of a place to play pool and/or billiards in Santiago. What games are popular and where should I go? Do any AZB'ers live in the Dominican? Thanks, Rod

    Where to play in LA

That explains it all!!! I couldn't get free until late Thursday night, otherwise, I would've been at Hard Times myself. I did make it over to HOB in Santa Monica Friday night to get a feel for those super tough Gold Crowns. I got a lesson on how to best manage the humidity and tight pockets...

    Where to play in LA

Thanks for the heads up. I've never played at HOB, but I've heard of it many times. If there are good games to get into, or something good to watch, HOB is the place for me this week. I don't know when I'll get over that way. I've got a busy day with family/funeral activities. I may not get...

    Where to play in LA

After a busy day with family, I drove over to Manila Billiards in Carson about 45 minutes ago to just hit some balls, only to find the whole strip mall is dead. How is a pool room not even open at just past 10pm on a Thursday night? I wish I saw this thread earlier about the action in SM...I...

    Where to play in LA

I think I mixed you up...I'll be coming into LA later this week, from 8/8-8/11 (Thursday-Sunday). Manila Billiards is definitely on the radar, as is Hard Times, or maybe Mr Lucky's for the 8-ball tourney. As for balut, I came across a blog where the person described eating it for the first...

    Where to play in LA

I'll definitely stop in there. I've heard about it all my life from my uncles (I'm half-filipino), but I've never tried it.

    Where to play in LA

Looks like I'll have to stop in Manila Billiards one night, since its in Carson. The 8-ball tourney at Mr Lucky's on Saturday might be right up my alley. A trip up to Pasadena sounds good, too.

    Where to play in LA

Thanks for the info, Taek. I'll be staying with family in Carson, but I'll have a rental to get around. What's the Tad Cup? A pro/open event? Maybe I'll spectate if I can't get in it. Rod

    Where to play in LA

I'll be in LA from Thursday-Sunday this week (sadly, for an uncle's funeral). Are there any good tourneys or pool rooms that I should check out on these days? I played at Hard Times when I was on vacation a couple months back during the day...didn't see much pool outside my own table. I'd be...

Pool around Plainfield/Joliet, IL (45 minutes SW of Chicago)

Hi Scott, It has been a long time. I ended up moving to Jacksonville from Atlanta about 3.5 years ago. It'd be nice to run into you up here sometime, even if it's to just learn more about Chicago. I still haven't had a chance to make a trip to the city yet, but I plan to catch a White Sox game...
