Pool or Billiards in the Dominican Republic?

I'll be traveling to the Dominican Republic a few days every month for work, and I'm curious if anyone knows of a place to play pool and/or billiards in Santiago.

What games are popular and where should I go?

Do any AZB'ers live in the Dominican?

Thanks,

Rod

Well, although I'm Italian, I was raised in the Dominican Republic. The game played the most there is the 15 ball rotation to 61, known as "Piña", but 9 ball is very popular now. I lived in Santo Domingo, but visited Santiago many times, sorry I can't help you to find a place there. Word of caution, too many hustlers around, pool halls are not what we are use to see here, watch for the guy standing near the table with a beer on his hands and not talking to anybody, you can certainly have plenty of fun, lots of fun people there, good luck.

Is the guy with beer on his hands named Bald Mike, white guy?
