    I finally played Ultimate Pool

    noted rules difference: They rack the 8 on the spot, choice of stripes solids after break - so no take what you make like APA. Also cannot combo strip into solid and keep shooting solids, I believe that is a foul.

    Tournament Play - know the rules. If tournament states mark pocket of game ball then mark the pocket. Maybe never concede and/or receive a concession - play the game to the end period. My thoughts as a player is I do not expect my opponent to give me a concession and I do not request one...

    Anyone notice the quality of major brands of tips going down?

    Tiger tips that I have recently used have been great - no issues. The ONYX and SNIPER are the ones I have used.

    there are only two kinds of cues to own.

    I prefer not to collect a cue if its is not a player.

    no that is not what I am saying. Tiger Onyx and Sniper work well w/ CF. For reference you can see what they are putting on their own CF shafts. Darren Appleton also has new tip that they are producing for his line - but I have no experience with those...yet. they are called Nitro - just resently...

    New Brunswick Barbox coming

    they have a new bar box but it is not considered a GC 7 platform, that will only be available in 8' or 9' see another thread from this years EXPO w/ Brunswick's video. the Bar box I saw being used for Ultimate pool does have some GC styling though.

    I have a 30" Tiger Fortis shaft coming to pair with my Tiger cue. will give it a go.

    Has anyone seen benefits from going from 29" to 30" shaft length. I am considering a purchase of new shaft and have that option. would be coupled to a standard length butt that is approximately 29".
