Has anyone seen benefits from going from 29" to 30" shaft length. I am considering a purchase of new shaft and have that option.
would be coupled to a standard length butt that is approximately 29".

I kind of like it. There may be edge cases where you can get away with not using a bridge with the extra inch. It's not a very big adjustment to get used to 30". I think a lot of the reason for the extra inch is weight. Kielwood for example is a bit lighter and the extra inch helps with balance.

I don't really see any downside going to 30" other than making sure it fits in your case, if you're curious about them I say go for it as there's not really any downside that I can see.

No benefit unless you like playing with it. I used a 30 for a while and went back to 29. Until you get use to a 30 you might touch the cue ball when addressing it.
Try one. Can always be cut down and re-tapered

With the right taper and ferrule, I'd go 30 in a heartbeat.

I only use 60” cues(30/30) and the way my stance is a lot of times I could use longer. The main benefit is reach…

I have a 58" with a 3" mid cue as my daily. I also have 2 custom 32" shafts that I absolutely love, but try not to play them often. Otherwise the 32" kielwood would get top billing as my daily. Wouldn't need the extension.

I tried my friend’s 30” Schmelke KW shaft on one of my cues. As far as touching the cue ball because of length, I don’t know why that would happen because of a 1” longer shaft. You use the same bridge length, right? You don’t change you bridge because the shaft is 1” longer. You place your hands on the cue grip where the balance feels right and pretty similar to where you’d normally position your hand to grip the cue. The 30” shaft is basically what I’d describe as a translucent change meaning you won’t see much difference aside from a little added front weight which could possibly become a good thing.
