Thin cut vs. shallow angle breaks

Jeff You are correct as I thought you were referring to the one ball . I had the same problem when I started 14.1 as on one here in Houston plays it and I had to learn via Capellie's book and my numerous mistakes. If you can see the stack and it is "sharking" you then yur not completely focused...

Thin cut vs. shallow angle breaks

I would try to get the cue to hit the stack just above the three so it would not freeze against the stack or get caught up in the cluster. On your illustration I would incorporate a bit of draw into the shot with outside english. The draw would help to cue head closer to the center of the table...

Thin cut vs. shallow angle breaks

I like the OFF THE RAIL thin break shots with ONE exception. Controlling the cue ball after it contacts the rack can be a real challenge. Several times it has hit the side of the rack and wound up in the opposite side pocket. On run of 56 comes to mind that ended that way. It is a bad feeling...

    Sandbaggers on APA Regionals

That is the reason I switched to the BCA along with the higher level of player "overall". I read he APA team mag. and not one handicap over seven placed a it drug the rest of the team down. Frankly I thinks a way of cheating to win. APA seems to be more $ driven than the BCA. How did you place...

Bob It has been a few years before I had to discontinue 14.1 becasue of a bad back. I would very much apprcaire it if you could provide a brief outline about the when to switch issue and perhaps the name of the drill? Do you rememeber the number tht put youin the pro class? Now tht my back is...

    Good practice technique

A few years ago a player told me about a method to improve both your 14.1 and nine ball game. In addition it is a method to determine with good accuracy your skill level. Here is how it works: Spread all 15 balls on the table and run the first nine as you would an open rack of 14.1. The last...

    Youngest 100?

I believe the Miz did it when he was 18 as it was years ago when he was taking about it. Did the nine year old hit the century mark on a 6/12 snooker table? Best I ever had was 64. Hitting 100 at nine seems tough when his his heigth is taken into consideration.

    straight pool

Accustats has tapes for some 14.1 players getting 100+. They and Phil Capellie"s (sp?) book titled Play Your Best Straight Pool are the best learning tools around as you see how the runs are managed. Phil Capelli has a fansastic ability to put the entire game in words as he covers everything...
