that is a beautiful cue~ GLWS I believe that is a joint protector on the butt in that pic and not a shaft - notice the quilt/BEM in it... There is also the possibility that there is an ivory tipped big pin on that cue requiring a longer jp than normal as well...

you can buy a brand new USA made porper 3x6 for $100 shipped on fleabay from a couple different sellers...and a 4x8 is about $125 shipped... if you get the 3x6, I suggest the oval/flat versus the square.

micarta can have a grain to it - alot of people mistake it for ivory sometimes because of it if it is a golden yellow - it could be asbestos based micarta, the good stuff~

probably paper based micarta on the schon shaft... some didn't come with the schon logo on them...

This cue was really difficult to take pictures of for me because it is so dark. The orange/blue/orange veneers aren't as dark as the pictures lead you to believe.

this shouldn't last long - this ringwork is one of my faves... Very nice cue - GLWS
