probably paper based micarta on the schon shaft...
some didn't come with the schon logo on them...

Sry updated the posting.. It's pre 93, Runde era Schon shaft. Before they started signing the shafts..
My picture of the ferrule didn't turn out to well when I took it. It shows grain, and a yellowing tint in one area. Just attempted to take another photo but I have no good batteries for the camera. My cell phone camera isn't good enough to capture the grain.
micarta can have a grain to it - alot of people mistake it for ivory sometimes because of it
if it is a golden yellow - it could be asbestos based micarta, the good stuff~
