I started playing with a Z shaft when I started playing pool seriously. If I had to start all over again, I wish I hadn't. The Z shaft hid a flaw in my stroke (I have a tendency to hit left of center ball) that I didn't correct for years because I was using an LD shaft. My recommendation is...

I have one of JB's Flower style cases and they are pretty much bulletproof. I've dropped this case on one of the weakest parts of a case - the hinge of the lid when it's open - and it just shrugged it off like nothing happened. This is for a good cause so please don't send Jay lowball offers...

I always keep a sweater or a jacket in hand in case the pool hall is freezing cold. If you get cold, your body sends your blood to your important organs and away from your extremities. Well guess what happens, your hands and your arms get cold, and it can have a negative impact on your game...
