What I like about the oval chalk shape is that it being wider makes it far less likely to get your ferrule dirty, I use a Dr. V's Custom Shop magnetic holder so the chalk holder is an octagon shape so the chalk rolling is not a problem and I get about 2 years on one piece of chalk playing at...

I thought it was way to expensive, got a piece on a discount expecting nothing but hype, a year and a half later playing everyday for a minimum of an hour a day and it was still going, if you use a chalk holder like I do, it only costs about 25 cents a month......

I find shooting softly causes poor strokes, if I want less travel from the cueball my forward stroke is only an inch or less through the ball but very deliberate, it's been a game changer for me.

Bob Jewett posted awhile back about using a DAMP rag to wipe down your cloth and I've been doing it for a couple of months, some of the best advice I've ever had for cleaning my table, I do the cushions and the the bed of the table, just try it once for yourself, you'll see.....

I did, it didn't seem to help though, it just made the rubber bumper dirty.....

I've been using the green version of this chalk for years, have no reason to change, I've read quite a few reviews of people who have used the blue version and say it's different, the most common comment I've seen is that it feels creamier than the green and leaves marks on the cueball, TAOM...

I wish, the only league we have is an amusement company league, here is the scoring, each ball counts as 1 point and 3 for the 8, a break and run and you win 10 to 0, 8 on the break is 10 to 0 win, there is a run back rule, you have to worry about scoring points, I definitely play different...

I played in the APA for a few years when I was just learning, it was great then what I didn't notice is the team always had to change a couple of players, after a while I learned it was because of skill levels, as you go up in skill level it's YOUR job to find new players with low skill levels...

I don't want 5" pockets either 4 & 1/4" for Pro's and 4&1/2" for amateur tournaments for games like 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball , for games like 1 pocket, 14.1, and specialized games that aren't TV friendly anyways make them smaller if you want, if the sport is to grow people who are just learning...

It makes for less aggressive play, if you like safety play small pockets are great, I like when the player has to decide between a shot or a safety, when a player at least has a chance to try a "hero" shot, it's more exciting, the game has turned into chess with balls on a table, you might...
