I haven't tried a Whyte Carbon, MOST CF shafts are a tube with a seam that is foam filled, Becue shafts are spun and have no seam, you can get them up to 31" in length, I know they cost more but a couple of hundred bucks spread out over 10 years isn't enough to talk about, the cue I owned...

The Prime II shaft taper is longer than 18", way longer, Becue's shafts do not have a seam in them like most CF shafts do, they are spun as one solid shaft, I loved the Engage shaft, I love the Prime II shaft even more, to me it's has the best balance of solid CF hit and feedback like a wood...

I own 2 of them, it is a great shaft, Becue does things a little different than any cue company I know, instead of trying to build the "one" shaft everyone is going to love, they build shafts for different types of hit, I wouldn't get to hung up on shaft size with CF, 11.8 to 12.3 is 1/2 of 1mm...

A pool cue can transfer cue efficiently or it can rob power from your stroke, I'll give you it's not as complicated as a car, but there is technology that goes into building a cue that plays exceptionally.

There is a correlation here that my teammate noticed, the engineers at Becue were pool players before they started building cues, their intent was to bring to pool what CF brought to golf, a pool cue can't add power to your stroke but it can certainly rob power from your stroke, I remember when...

Pool cues are a tool for pool player as a car is a tool for a driver, my cue is the best tool for me that I have found, this of course is subjective, you could hate my cue, it doesn't mean my cue is bad, it only means it's not the right cue for you.

I'll put it like this, I can drive a 25mph S curve in my Sentra at 40mph, I can drive that same S curve in my friends Z28 at 60mph, same driver with a better tool.....

If only my shaft was 11.9 mm instead of 12.0 mm I could break and run every rack I play........

I agree but I love playing with my cue, it just feels like it's made for me, I did play with a house cue a couple of months ago and won 4 or 5 games with it, made me realize how good my cue is for me......

I think it also matters how long you have been playing, if you have been playing at least 20 years CONTINUALLY you probably are not working on your stroke, I was away from the game for about 10 years and I am just STARTING to feel comfortable with my stroke after 4 years, It’s like night and day...

I find using a CF shaft that any shaft from 11.8mm to 12.5 will play very similar, taper and construction have the most effect on how they play, that's been my experience 😉
