Pro Pocket Size TOO Small for 9 Ball

Everything fits a pool pocket. If you use my 'design', you can get down to 3.25 before it gets impossible and that's only slamming 'em down the rail.
What you are calling less fit is simply less slack.

The question is who would want to watch pool played on pockets that tight? Pool already has a hard time drawing viewers, there is no reason to chase the few that watch away with long drawn out safety battles. There is nothing wrong with seeing good volley of safeties but it doesn't make for good viewing if it becomes 50% of the game.

You are assuming cheating the pocket takes no ability to be accurate, when it is impossible to even try the shot because the size of the pockets make it physically impossible EVERY player has to play the safe, they have no choice, there is no other option if they are smart players and considering they are Pro's I'm going to give them the benefit of doubt, all pockets have a point where it is impossible to make the ball, I enjoy when a player has to make a choice between the shot or the safety, the Pro's today are so good we are talking 1/8th" on each side of the pocket, you assume that 1/8" means they never miss, you should know better than that.
Well tighter pockets makes cheating the pocket on accident impossible, so there's that.

You argue that Pros play to perfection infallibly? In a game like 9 ball, with enough space for quarter table landing triangles, why do players have to fudge any shot? To play more general position? Chinese pool proves you can calibrate to tougher specs. Jocks take that proof and argue aesthetics like "boring" no end. Just saying, you can't argue technical specs and tolerances. Obviously you don't take the design into impossible. EEk. I'm saying humans can and should take their abilities to < if it fits, I can make it. >

Before somebody brings up 'smarts', no, you obviously don't go for anything and everything that comes up. Headroom and evolution. It's inevitable.
we all have different preferences. I like watching 9 ball with the current size of pockets. I tried watching Chinese 8 ball, found it boring as hell. I don't mind a safety battle where players are trying to put their opponent in trouble. But I saw a "safety battle" where they weren't actually playing safeties, they were trying to tempt each other into going for the finish and neither player wanted to take the bait. Maybe I got unlucky with the first Chinese 8 ball match I watched, but it seems to me they have taken the small pockets thing too far.

if so, i also get unlucky most of the times i try to watch it. but the top-top dogs run out though, possibly over 50%. it's 8-ball after all.

Pro's don't cheat the pocket by accident, amateurs like me do, 4&1/4" leaves room for both
Everyone does. Everyone gets lucky, Efren was the luckiest of all, joke, but not about everyone getting lucky. The bigger the pocket, the more often it happens.

missing the idea. tight pockets for the pros as they dont miss and can usually still get good position. viewers makes it less appetizing as its slower and pool is slow enough as it is for a viewer.

but for everyone else they are hampered with smaller pockets as they cannot fudge them to get position and miss so many more shots it takes the fun out of the game.

and for bangers they can never make more than a couple balls and many never even get to that stage and just quit.

terrible players never get one in and stop coming in the pool room.

Actually that's not even on the table. Americans invented pool but evidently not technical discipline. Even looks like pool happened by accident.
Pool tables aren't made with your design .......
More status quoted dummness. It's a different pocket shape. Almost exactly like the pockets on the disc carom tables. It's a pool aid. Perfect the shotmaking before trying to compete.

Chinese pool sells fine I heard. Regardless, snooker jaws - and not their apertures, are what trigger the mindless defensive mode. I happen to like the challenge of tight pool pockets but I weather the BS about it because pool needs to evolve.

You: it's a different pocket shape
Me: they don't use YOUR pocket shape on pool tables
If you want to play disc carom go ahead, I would prefer to play pool, let me know when YOU beat a player like SVB, Corey Duel, or even Earl Strikland this year, my guess it ain't going to happen, I'm sure anyone of them would be happy to gamble with you 😀

Typical jock flailing? You a cop? They need the legislature to sort disagreements out.

Try answering the questions I did ask. And the shape - it's all aperture and no jaws. Goes at all angles. Best practice tool in the world. If they did have options like that, Murkhans would be in control of MC.

Pretty typical, when you are wrong in what you are saying one often resorts to insults and name calling, sure sign you know you are wrong, don't see a lot of love for your pocket design, I guess most people just want to play pool 😉

So now you got a fictitious adversary. Got any actual rebuttal?

Here's some future. Maybe you seen it?

Did you see the Texas Open on ESPN? Seems like forever since they televised Pool, It was a great match Capito vs FSR, it went back and forth, the unfortunate thing is they didn't televise the whole match, Capito was behind but came back and looked like he was going to win, had to catch the rest of the match on YouTube because they cut to another sport, I was pissed, Capito made ONE mistake and FSR came back to win it, big crowd and the place was electric, wonder how pickle ball and corn hole get more TV time......

You are so full of yourself you refuse to see the rebuttal, Pool doesn't need to evolve, some things are great just the way they are, that's why they have survived for over a century, if you want to create a new sport with your table, go for it, let your new game stand on it's own merit, let's see how how many people follow YOUR new game, continuing to bash the great players of pool as not being precise enough means you really don't understand the game, this game isn't about who's the most precise, its about who comes up big when the match is on the line, something I guess you don't understand.....

it was US open, not texas open. diamond table with 4" pockets.

Man, nothing but old argue licks and applied to your fantasy scenarios no less.
Incidentally, seeing the game for the relic it is, is nowhere close to bashing great players.

If the game is a relic to you create your own game, in my opinion you telling pro players they should be more precise when you are not out there competing on the pro circuit is rich.....
