    Cue maker suggestions

I have called around a bit as well and decided on a gaboon ebony Merry Widow cue and a matching jump / break cue from Gulyassy.

Looking for a solid American cue

Can't go wrong with any of those choices but I do have a preference in shafts with Joss's HP Kielwood. I think it is the best shaft in the industry. It has a phenolic insert in the threads and has a very nice tone when hit solid.

Earl vs Efren - 1997 US Open 9-Ball Championship Finals premiering tonight

The commentary is awful. They both can't wait to say the next word. I generally appreciate the commentary from Grady and Billy but this is not one of those times.

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

I hadn't made that obvious parallel. I think the only way out of this is to up the ante. The lead has to lose an arm, eye or a leg and stage a monumental comeback.

Kingpin script minus the the rubber hand. Maybe one of them should lose a hand hustling? Many plot turns to take afterwards.

GENDER IN POOL ... Do Men Play Better Than Women? ... Recent Legal Trial

Very nicely researched and written article. The height section could have used a reference to mechanical doping. I would be curious to know the improvement in Fargo rating that Earl witnessed with his platform shoes. /s :)

    I went back today...

Trends seem to swing. I suspect going forward, high quality carbon fiber will be cheaper to produce than high quality wood shafts. Once its all settled, I personally believe a high quality wood shaft optimizes the best of all inputs and would become a premium option over a high quality, low...

US OPEN FINALS. Svb vs Fedor

This sounds pretty ridiculous. In no way can that be considered a reasonable amount.

    Shuriken cues

I purchased a few of these cues and I really can't say enough good things about them. A few others have written positive reviews of cues purchased from Anton and my experience is the same. #5 has become my main player but I love having the others in the room and rotating through them. I'd highly...

    Learning

I wish I practiced my cue stroke as much as my baseball swing growing up. I had plenty of hitting (baseball) coaches and some were better than others but they are absolutely required to hit at even a basic competitive level.

I've never had to prove that I purchased a donut.

Best CF Shaft for the MSRP?

I think the Rhino is hard to beat for $199. I do think its worth the extra money to upgrade to the Cuetec at $399. Above that, I think paying more is only justified when looking to optimize in an area. The Revo is worth the premium if a person wants the lowest deflection, the Ignite might be...

Is the Whyte carbon shaft premium because it’s expensive?

Fedor Gorst and the Viking Sponsorship

Mostly, my intent was to start a discussion. I find this forum entertaining and I like to engage. I think it’s a unique opportunity for Viking to make a resurgence (or initial surge) but it doesn’t look like they are setting themselves up properly to take advantage.
