    Hotels with pool tables

I was not aware of Aloft being pool table friendly but they are a Marriott brand. My previous experience at the Renaissance LAX was also a Marriott brand. I hope they continue to include pool tables at their properties. I fear that they will continue to disappear over time.

    Hotels with pool tables

I have more questions. Finding a tarot card reader seems straight forward. How does a corporate event planner find a pool demo guy? I am curious about the experience. Were you there to encourage games or what sort of role did they have in mind? How did the tarot card reader get sequestered to...

    Hotels with pool tables

Did you play on this table? If so, did you rent the room specifically for the pool table?

    Hotels with pool tables

Well, in the case of my previous post, my wife booked a hotel specifically looking for a pool table. I am certain I am in a market segment that should be ignored but I’ll continue to provide preference to hotels that have them.

    Hotels with pool tables

I would recommend the Renaissance Hotel Los Angles airport if needing a place to stay and flying out of LAX. They have a pool table in the lounge that was in good condition. It was a great place to relax, decompress and hit some balls after a Disney and Legoland visit. It wasn’t remarkable...

    Underappreciated Cue Makers Section

I’ve learned a few things working with cue makers, and design complexity matters a quite a bit in choosing a builder. I like to collect cues and play with various types of cues. I really love the Gulyassy cues I discussed earlier in this thread, but I would have struggled to convey a complex...

Do You Think Professional Pool Players Should Be Paid In Crypto Or Cash?

Yeah, it is still true in that situation. Anyone can create a wallet that is only defined by numbers. The issue arises when a person wants to transfer money to a US banking account. Each crypto exchange is registered as a US money transmitter and must abide by anti money laundering protocols...

Do You Think Professional Pool Players Should Be Paid In Crypto Or Cash?

I thought this was someone’s seed phrase. Lullz.

Do You Think Professional Pool Players Should Be Paid In Crypto Or Cash?

I believe crypto has and will continue to make its place. It can be debated what that will evolve into. I think its best use case will be for the coming agentification with humans being minor participants. I love the story about DCC and a high stakes game taking place with single coins on the...

Do You Think Professional Pool Players Should Be Paid In Crypto Or Cash?

I cannot believe this is a serious question but I'll provide a comment. Paying a normal person digitally with crypto is probably one of the worst ways to compensate an individual. Are you going to hand them a ledger with a 24 seed phrase already established? Are you going to ask them to setup a...

    Underappreciated Cue Makers Section

I just ordered a BOMB break and playing cue from Gulyassy. Ebony forearm with a white and black ebony handle and 4” extension. The playing cue is 60” with an even split. I can shoot every shot on a 7’ table with it. I add the 4” extension and can shoot any shot on a 9’. The shaft is kielwood...

This thread is ridiculous. I’ll take it.

Why put a rose on a cue?

With Kingpin 2 being announced and the return of the rose encased bowling ball, it made me wonder about the significance. At least McDermott and Meucci have rose themed cues. Why put a rose on a cue or in a bowling ball?

    Cue maker suggestions

I have called around a bit as well and decided on a gaboon ebony Merry Widow cue and a matching jump / break cue from Gulyassy.

Looking for a solid American cue

Can't go wrong with any of those choices but I do have a preference in shafts with Joss's HP Kielwood. I think it is the best shaft in the industry. It has a phenolic insert in the threads and has a very nice tone when hit solid.

Earl vs Efren - 1997 US Open 9-Ball Championship Finals premiering tonight

The commentary is awful. They both can't wait to say the next word. I generally appreciate the commentary from Grady and Billy but this is not one of those times.

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

I hadn't made that obvious parallel. I think the only way out of this is to up the ante. The lead has to lose an arm, eye or a leg and stage a monumental comeback.

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

Kingpin script minus the the rubber hand. Maybe one of them should lose a hand hustling? Many plot turns to take afterwards.

GENDER IN POOL ... Do Men Play Better Than Women? ... Recent Legal Trial

Very nicely researched and written article. The height section could have used a reference to mechanical doping. I would be curious to know the improvement in Fargo rating that Earl witnessed with his platform shoes. /s :)
