I think the tips on these lower end Chinese ones are usually Bakelite. I hate phenolic tips for a variety of reasons and think the Bakelite is pretty similar.

I went through the Meucci archives and was unable to locate this exact model. It has the "originals" logo but I know it must be somewhat newer based on the black dot shaft that is original to the cue. It must've been a special run for a distributor.

I watched Earl warming up at a tournament back in the early 80s, jumping with the Meucci on a Gold Crown, pocketing the ball and drawing the cue ball back about 5-6'. Crazy stuff!
