Interesting responses. A friend of mine was in a Goodwill about year ago and sent me a pic of a steel jointed JW that he grabbed for $20. Like the OPs description, the shaft was skinny, maybe 12 MM, and the butt cap was cracked, but geez! He also got a vertical logo Huebler a few months earlier...

I just had one shipped from FL. The delivery date was 3 days out. All of sudden "your package has been delayed." When it finally showed up in tracking a few days later, it was in Puerto Rico! It spent some vacation days there and finally ended up here over 2 weeks after shipping! I remember when...

I really enjoyed watching him. He's a little less "robotic" and more animated than some of the others that shoot at that level.

Stainless rings in the middle of the handle, that will eventually pop through the finish. I've lost my taste for long ferrules over the years even though that's what I came up playing with. Uneven points on a sneaky, or any cue for that matter.

I was never sure if he was just yanking our chains or was really that out there. I always assumed he was very young. Maybe he wasn't but sad to hear either way.

Just my 2 cents, but I've been using the soft and to me it's not a soft playing tip at all. Plays more like a medium to me, and I haven't experienced any mushrooming with mine.
