Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

All of this new information has been helpful. And I would now like to introduce Shafts into the equation. I want to play with Carbon Fiber. I've been playing with the Meucci Carbon Pro for 2 years now. I do like it. I like the softer but still responsive feel I get from that shaft as well as the...

Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

Studiotronics, a Dallas TX cue maker responded to my question as well. Here is what he had to say: " @Studiotronics Morning Thomas. Normal modern cues are attached together using a tenon and screw. Full spliced cues are attached together by gluing all that surface area afforded by joining these...

Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

Yes, ideally I would like to play with them but that is difficult these days with lots of sales being online. I guess another question would be where is the best place to try lots of different major brands? Would it be at a large tournament where they have booths set up?

Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

I'm sharing Bob Dzuricky, a long time cue maker's, response here: "Thomas, Of course, every cuemaker who responds will have his own agenda, so keep that in mind as you weigh our answers. That said, I’m winding down my business so I don’t need to impress anyone at this point. Duplicating...

Different Types of Cue Construction explained. What's Best?

I currently play with a Meucci Curly maple cue and the Meucci Carbon Pro shaft. It appears to be on piece construction with multiple diamond inlays. I've been interested in trying other cues. So, what advantages do Full Splice cues have in terms of performance and feel over other cue designs? Is...

    Rasson Victory II solid?

I know this post is 4 years old. But It's the only place I see people evaluating the Rasson Victory. My question is, because of the central base, is it easier for the table to get unbalanced or unlevel if a player has to sit on a corner or put lots of weight on the table for a cross table shot...

Meucci Carbon Pro and Budget Billiards Issues?

Just an update. I spoke with Darren at Meucci over the phone and emailed Julia through the Billiards site Where I thanked them for all their help on the front end and looked forward to getting this problem taken care of. Essentially I was very nice by insistent on the front end. Either calling...

Will someone caliper a Carbon Fiber Revo Shaft?

Your Meucci CF is advertised at 12.5 but measures 13.1. .6mm is not acceptable fluctuation for a 12.5; they clearly sent you a 13mm shaft...maybe 12.75mm. My concern is if they are going to be advertising CF shafts with .35mm difference i.e. 11.9 & 12.25 then .6 in fluctuation makes no sense...

Meucci Carbon Pro and Budget Billiards Issues?

You need to get an order number or find out where you cue is and that if they cannot provide this information then they either have the option to refund you for the entire cue amount or have action taken against them in civil court. Maybe that will get them going. Darren seems like he's at least...

Meucci Carbon Pro and Budget Billiards Issues?

Yes, Included the email above. I talked to him on the phone and he said that it's harder to get the consistency with the Carbon Fiber shafts. I called Seyberts Billiards and they told me that the Meucci Carbon Fiber's fluctuate in diameter more that other Carbon Fiber's like a Revo. He said the...

Meucci Carbon Pro and Budget Billiards Issues?

I would call and ask to speak to Darren. He's the only one at Meucci who I think is actually helpful.

Meucci Carbon Pro and Budget Billiards Issues?

Response from Budget Billiards: "Be sure to check below the ferrule. Usually the ferrules are slightly larger than the carbon. The Carbon shafts have been a little unreliable, but they might have mistakenly switched the tubes and sent a 11.9. They have been having trouble getting both wood and...
