APA league??? run a lot slower than BCA or VNEA in my experience. our leagues started at 8 and were done by 10, playing 8 ball with 5 players on 2 tables, one per team.
maybe we were better players???
nope, just a bunch of bangers.
played BCA league with a guy from England, he was a good player....used his snooker cue...and positively ANAL about any dirt on the cue ball. his turn to break, would give the cb a complete rub=down with a towel.
why doesn't some sharp guy/gal manufacture a ball template...piece of stainless steel with a 2.25 hole punched in it...for sale. For the really anal....2 holes....go and no go....gauges like they do for ammo reloaders.
Seems to me I recall playing a variation of 8 ball, where make or miss, you just got one turn at the table, alternate shots.
Anybody heard of this or is it time for Grandpa to go to the home??
and he says, "break it down and you concede and I win. Continue play with it as is."
Then you crack him across the forehead with the butt and go to jail. Had to get a new cue anyway.
I have won more playing poker than pool.
The former you don't have to be the best, if you can bluff.
You can't bluff playing pool....the ball goes in or it don't.
I am on a firearms website here in metro Atlanta, we have semi-regular meet and greet over lunch, its like a Santa Claus convention. I fit in well with a little white hair left and a full beard.
Player takes a shot and the cue tip comes off,
can he take a time out to glue it back on??
go to his case and replace the shaft with a good one??
does the latter fall into the category of withdrawal from the match for breaking down his cue??
I have lost a tip a time or 2 in casual play, so...
