you can date the butt by the font of the logo, yours is a newer style, so it would be made by Evan Clarke or one of the newer cuesmiths

I’ve owned several schon cues, that shaft was a 1 year only design. It was made in 1993, before that, schon didn’t mark their shafts, after 93, the wrote their name on the shaft, the s that schon had early on in the r series and later in the st and some sl series where a lot more fancy script

Any 5:16-14 will work, if he wants low deflection, Jacoby make a keilwood with a schon joint that plays awesome!!!

That would have been an Evan Clarke made schon, the shaft is older than the butt. The schon script is different on the mid 90s models.

I have a real early first edition with what I’ve been told and believe is an unmarked pre cat 314 shaft. It plays like early 314 shafts I’ve played with, just unmarked. The butt is all black with black wrap with white specs.

I have that same schon, do you know the model number?

It’s crazy how fast this thread spiraled back into the debate on cf or ld or traditional wood. My original post was simply if people are seeing a rise in people shooting with traditional wood. I firmly believe it’s just preference. I was just curious if I was seeing something or not.

There is a website that shows pics of all the cx line up. I think I came across the link on this site. I’m not able to find it now. The reason I think it’s a st3 is the time frame and ring colors can vary.
