    Did I just get Hustled?

Fun thread to read. Fun to think that somebody really could think you can fool true 50/50 odds, without messing with the odds themselves. I also wonder why MacGyver (suitable nick there!) asks if he was conned, when clearly he knows tricks and the facts better than anybody else. But still, what...

How would Efren run this rack?

Caroming the 7 or 8 off anything seems impossible. If I felt lucky I would force the 7 (and cannon on eight) playing it slowly head-on with extreme left side. Would be nice to leave the seven there. But to pocket the two ball would have to go rail first and play it off the 5... risky. If one...

Can male snooker players dominate mens pool?

Good points there. The snooker circuit pays a lot of money and thus there is a lot of competition for top spots. The larger table and the competition demands a lot of diligent practice. Pool is easier. In pool you always here of practicing *less* to find better form, not usually so in snooker...

Too Tight Pockets Hurt your game?

I can understand what you are saying. Very tight pockets can hurt your game. You lose the flow, the game changes to more defense etc.

Straight Pool Geeks - Your Chance to Shine

I suck in 14.1 but my gut reaction would to bump now instead of later: 10, move the 12, leaving on the 8 if possible (if not then 1 -> 8), then the 1 and the 12.

9ball practice game. similair to "99"w/safeties+more

I used to practice safeties on my own. 9ball, only safeties, kicks, jumps and banks allowed. It did help a bit... at the time.

Different weight/length of cue for different games?

Actually my cue is about 16.8oz. And I'm find with that weight. Though my previous one was 20oz. More weight might suit me, buut I wouldn't know really. I think shorter bridge suits the short game.

Different weight/length of cue for different games?

Do you think different games favor different cue weights and lengths? Would 14.1 and one pocket favor short and heavy cues while 9ball would be best played with a tad lighter and longer cue? Just curious, I guess.

Break Shot Bridge - Open Or Closed?

For me it's the only shot where I use closed bridge always. Just holds the cue in place better, so the cue won't shoot up or anything.

    Working out and Playing Pool

Immonen said in a TV interview a month ago that he sometimes works out (at the gym) on the day of the match... I was wondering why, I too think it's not wise. Although it can empty your mind.

The Diference between Back hand English and Tuck and roll

I'm basically a snooker player by technique, but have picked up many straits playing mostly pool for the past few years. I play side spin mostly the snooker way, but when I want the most spin possible, I play with a loop/closed bridge and stroke across the ball.
