so a good aramith cue ball will do better? again cant afford balls right now....looking for an immediate fix....the billiard balls aren't marking anything up

I couldn't quite afford real high quality balls so I got a set from Academy. Problem is, the cue ball leaves distinct white marks everytime it's struck hard. I even have the new HR Simonis Felt to help prevent this. Is this a result of the cheap cue ball? Is there a replacement cue ball I...

I have black leather pockets that are a bit worn and ugly looking inside and out. If I put black shoe polish on the inside of the pockets do you think it will get on the balls and then onto the felt? Or do you think after giving it some time to dry it shouldn't leave any residue on the balls?
