Cue Ball Marks on Felt

South Texas noob!
I couldn't quite afford real high quality balls so I got a set from Academy. Problem is, the cue ball leaves distinct white marks everytime it's struck hard. I even have the new HR Simonis Felt to help prevent this. Is this a result of the cheap cue ball? Is there a replacement cue ball I can buy for now to replace my cheap one that would help? Thanks!

Buy a good set of balls! You have great cloth on your table. Why go cheap with the balls? The Aramith balls will leave less friction burns.
 
so a good aramith cue ball will do better? again cant afford balls right now....looking for an immediate fix....the billiard balls aren't marking anything up
 
I've probably got some I could sell you that I'm looking to get rid of cheap.

I actually have a full set of used Brunswick Centennial balls for $100 shipped anywhere in the US. I think the majority of the guys on this board would agree that the Centennials are just as good as the Aramiths. Many like the style even better, but that's just an opinion thing. I will put a new Aramith cueball in with the set though, because I don't have the original cueball for the set.

Let me know if you're interested. The set retails for $389 new, so quite a savings.
