No glove. corn starch , baby powder or something else?

I’m finally getting to play tomorrow for probably 5 hours. I don’t have a glove and am wondering if corn starch or baby powder is better to use as a lubricant for my bridge hand? Will any of these damage the shaft in any way? How often would I need to apply? How messy are they? I’m going to play at a pool hall that has no old school cone talc and my hands tend to sweat. Thanks

I used to use a glove, but with a Revo or any other carbon shaft I've found that a glove isn't necessary.

If it's humid in the room, a CF shaft won't really help much there. I use one often and when it's sweaty/sticky it's just about the same feel as a wood shaft. I don't use a glove normally but carry one with me, even in my travel setup, for use when needed. I remember using powder back when I started playing but I think I used it maybe 4-5 times in the past 20 years total.

One thing about the talcum powder, that smell brings me back to my early days of playing in a huge way, I get nostalgic every time I smell the stuff.

I like the kamui glove. I’ve tried it and the predator glove. I don’t remember which one I reorder but both are about the same I think.

They are pretty decent quality but still they start to come apart on the finger seams pretty quickly unless you’re very careful every time you take the glove off.

Your hand gets a little sweaty and you just try to yank the glove off and you hear little popping sounds...

As an aside: the OP is showing up at the top of each subsequent page of this thread for me. Is anyone else seeing that? It has confused me a few times so far

It is for me. I like how the OP shows up at the top. Also this thread has upvote and downvote arrows. I see it on this thread and a few others, but nowhere else on the forum. Admin seemed to have no idea what I was talking about.

I live in an area which is arguably the most humid in the US. Twenty or so years ago, I discovered Cue Silk. I have not used any powder, etc., since then. I am well on my way to determining that shaft wax (Renaissance) is every good or better as Cue Silk. (In fact, Cue Silk is, in all likelihood, probably just a liquid shaft wax.) Shaft problem solved. Now what are we to do about all this swampy cloth?
