When I was in college, I worked for my uncle for one summer. I thought it was awesome that he lived across from Camus Ln.. Albert Camus was one of my favorite authors at the time (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Camus). I told the cutie next door that it was cool that she lived on Camus (pronounced, 'Kam-OO'). She looked at me like I was retarded and said, 'I live on 'came-ess.' Turns out that all the versions of 'sumac' were take, so they spelled it backwards.
I distinctly remember that as my first real impression of Wisconsin. To the young lady's credit, she actually turned out to be very cool, intelligent, and eventually, into Albert Camus.
