You’re starting shot on the 1 ball was different than the diagram, unless it was ball-in-hand to set the cue ball anywhere you want for the 1 ball.I prefer shooting the one and going one rail towards the 3, pretty much the only difference.

Yeah, that is what I explained in the sentence above the link. You’re starting shot on the 1 ball was different than the diagram, unless it was ball-in-hand to set the cue ball anywhere you want for the 1 ball.

OK I’ll do it over, I brain farted and took it for granted it was BiH.That wasn't the layout. You took BIH on the 1B. Pretty much changed everything.
This is the approach I took. I ran it out twice in a row. Center with a touch of left on the 1 to get to the 3 via one rail. Instead of trying to draw back, I stunned the 3 and left an angle on the 4.The 1 or 2 cushion for the 3 in the upper left corner is obvious, whichever you feel more comfortable with. I would choose the end cushion with just enough outside to safely avoid running into the 9. The problem with planning on the 4 in the side is that it might not be that easy unless you end up virtually straight in on the 3. If you don’t draw back to just the right angle for the 4 in the side, sliding over for the 5 in the side might not be that easy, which is why I might prefer the 4 in the lower right corner, which would leave numerous pocket / positioning options for the 5, depending on the angle you’ve left on the 4. After the 5, everything else is obvious - just don’t leave yourself too straight on the 8.
It changed where the 5 went because I came up a little short on the 4, other than that it was pretty much identical. Boy, kind of sucks not being able to have any background music, you can hear my fat ass breathing heavy every time I lean over, lol. That, and I notice my head is moving a LOT.That wasn't the layout. The breathing thing I didnt even notice till you mentioned it, gotta breathe if you wanna stay on this side of the ground. I would work on the head thing now that you noticed it. I was in a pretty bad slump about 2 years ago and a team mate noticed I was moving my head when down on the shot, he said he always admired how I was like a statue before that time. I had to fix it, it really affected how I shot in a bad way.It changed where the 5 went because I came up a little short on the 4, other than that it was pretty much identical. So you went down and practiced the wrong shot?FYI here,
I set this shot up again tonight. I did place the 1B slightly more off the rail so I could go two rails for position on the 3B.
I missed the shot on the 1B three straight times trying to hit it a little low.
I put the cue up, shut the dehumidifier off, turned the light off, and walked away.
You can simply spin it back ala Efren. Regardless, BHE is almost fool proof on those - provided you got the initial aim right.FYI here,

The OP has been a member of AZB for over 20 years and presumably has been playing pool for longer than that. Perhaps he could still, at this late stage of his career, change how he compensates for squirt.... Regardless, BHE is almost fool proof on those - provided you got the initial aim right.
It was about a 1/4 tip of top and left if I'm recalling correctly, I was a little nervous about the side pocket. Not really happy with where I landed on the 9, but it was better than scratchingI noticed you like to use draw and / or left spin to go from the 8 to the 9
Rather than follow like @jbart65
Or i like with right spin if necessary and use the long rail to come towards the 9
Especially on the first video and on the second one, maybe with the angle you had, it was just follow. I could not tell.
Based on your videos i think you should change your screen name to
GOODpenguin…..![]()
Oh it's not point and shoot by any means. When I use 'strong' english I often feel the shot as a single entity. Deflection/swerve/throw all culminating in the desired OB line. I learned early that those stroke shots tend to go the same way and kinda burn themselves in. BHE allows starting from square one - the centerball contact to contact shot and then adding what's required. The OP has been a member of AZB for over 20 years and presumably has been playing pool for longer than that. But I think there are problems with BHE, especially for this fairly soft shot, that require care.
But that's not how to improve your game. You are supposed to practice the shots that you struggle the most with. You shouldnt have put your cue away when you missed the shot 3 times, instead as they say, you practice that shot until you cant miss it.FYI here,

I was going to post something like this as a joke. Missed with ball in hand three times and quitFYI here,

Not on fast cloth from that angle, I like the draw to the second rail on that shot I think. From the position of the ball that is, not ball in hand. Every time I thought I can hold a ball on a Rasson table, or a newer setup Diamond, the cueball travels 2 feet further than I expect.I think it's better to play one rail straight at the 3, or even no rails (if ball in hand).
One rail could be a challenge with some cushions, but the OP is playing on a Gold Crown. Not on fast cloth from that angle, I like the draw to the second rail on that shot I think.
