Tony Chohan thoughts on money matches

Since he brought it up, does anybody know what specific health ailment Chohan has?

Also, he stated that he beat SVB over and over even in rotation games- SVB must have been giving him weight, correct?

19-21 with morra getting a spot 10-8. seems like a reasonable score with that premise. more people were probably complaining about morras pace of play

regardless of that i don't see the point in players taking to social media to "complain about complainers", especially when they write a wall of text with poor punctuation. tony's still my favorite player but like with ronnie-o in snooker, i don't care too much about what he says or writes

I'm sure the world of making a game is full of trials and tribulations. I felt like he was (1) just venting and (2) using the soapbox as a means to get attention for the purpose of drumming up more action. I gave it a quick read, shrug, and that was about it.

Here's a post from 2023 that quotes what Chohan said about his hidradenitis suppurativa (HS): https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/us-open-one-pocket-2023-nov-6-10.558612/#post-7670630
Had to google what that is, and I get this on my feet and lower ankles I thought they were just blisters caused by sweat, blocked pores and ultimately humid weather. Been getting them since I was like 15... I just pick them and squeeze all the fluid out, but they get hella sore. Leaves scabs, skin tunnels and whatever, but eventually the skin sorts itself out and they pop up somewhere else. Though damn annoying, I didn't know this was a 'Go Fund Me' kind of ailment... anyway, off I go down the google rabbit hole...

I also agree with what he wrote for the most part, but I do also think, as someone else posted, the soap box is a great way to stir the pot and try to drum up some action...

It’s at the Go Fund Me level where if it doesn’t meet its goal we all get a “shame on you” thread created for it.

I might start my own Go Fund Me... Shame on you all in advance for not caring that my feet hurt *shakes shame stick, prepares FB rant*

Here it is as plain text...

LONG READ HEADS UP:
I seen some negative comments about my match with John Morra on some threads usually the people who don't play pool or show up to a pool tourney or ever solicit a pool hall.

But I was thinking in the last 6 money matches I have had playing one pocket I take the tough games and the bet is supposed to be let's say for example 20k when post time comes the day of the bet is 5k or 10k this puts a different mindset for me and kinda puts me in a fog to think that we are doing one thing and then it's another.

That being said from now on I dont really care if I play on stream or not although I enjoy being able to but also that from now on no poster or flyer will ever be made unless both parties money is posted ahead of scheduling or any poster being made or any match happening.

With this being said all the matches I lost particularly the one with Justin Bergman and John morra I am willing to do rematches if they can come up with 25k each i am willing to play and will play on a neutral court in which we can discuss but there is no need to discuss unless you have money to be posted its not the players faults but this way we don't have to go through the motions unless the money is up.

I still have a few that will keep riding with me.

Another thing Shane VanBoening was another person over the course of my pool career we played 24 times and guess what some was rotation and guess what again his record against me is 2-22 yes u see that correctly meaning the only times he won is the last 2 times. I chased to play people after i lose everytime I am not getting any younger that was another match when we played the 1st time in Vegas we were supposed to bet 80k and it ended up being 35k just think going into a match the bet just got cut less than half.

Last but not least I am battling illness and discomfort everyday of my life I don't want sympathy I just want to do what I have done most of my life play for some cheese at the great game of one pocket. Also I match up as close to fair with everyone.

Next if I dont get matches i am focusing doing lessons and clinics and open to exhibition matches if people want also.

I am not here to bad mouth any player just showing the mindset about 10 years ago I came back to pool after a 6 year hiatus, I played the best of the best within a few days of coming back i was beating them with a ball and within a week was beating them even.

For the 2 years coming off the hiatus my record playing all good players I mean great players was undefeated at which time there was no more opponents. So for 2 years after a 6 year hiatus I played 20 different matches ranging from 5k to 20k and won all of them playing even or giving a spot to the likes of all the greats. Then I played Bustamante in Vegas race to 21 we went hill to hill and he won a set for about 10 to 15k my backer at the time told his backer and him u dont have to play again right now but if u would like to play another set you can bet up to 100k and guess what declined to play. So please for the keyboard warriors out there that say some dumbshit let me just tell you will never know what i have done and gone through in my life because honestly you don't play pool or follow it you just started to get into it.

Thanks for the read sorry it was long but sometimes you have to start checking people and let them know the facts so they can start to understand. By no means am I a perfect human being I have my faults but all I am doing now is hoping to get by like everyone else without bothering folks as I lay in bed and go thru the motions of my illnesses and hope one day that goes away life will be better and you will see the T-REX that goes around the table with a pep in his step for now its slow motion lol.

He was complaining about the money matches not living up to the totals, so here is a thought.
Ditch the BS 100k 200k etc. matches and play reasonable matches where you still get a good cut, or bet your own in matches.
This is the way. You can nickel and dime yourself to 100k but playing someone 100k is not a routine game.

I rather play a couple of 10k-30k matches here and there.

If I was Tony I wouldn't complain....how money matches are today.....2 players hustle backers now.

If I'm playing for 1k-5k with backers involved. It will be an intense match. My opponent and I always meet for dinner after the match.
