Time for new pool balls - Aramith Tournament Pro-Cup or Brunswick Centennial

I do really like the look of the Centennials!!

Looked at the Dynaspheres but I like the look of the Aramith's and the Brunswicks better.
The Aramith Tournaments are Duramith resin and absolutely stay cleaner longer than Centennials. I have both sets and are both within a year of the same age. I like the Tournament set so much I have a brand new second set waiting in the box when I replace my cloth.

Found this on the Aramith website. A few years old perhaps as I didn't see any mention of the new Duramith technology but definitely an interesting read.

The Story Behind Aramith:

I don't think the latest resin matters all that much on a home table.

The OP's set latest resin was developed at least 32 years ago and they have lasted 32 years and are still in good condition.

How many spans that long do any of us have left?
It doesn’t matter for longevity, correct. But it matters for how clean they stay, and how easy they are to polish.

The super Aramith pro resin stinks in that regard compared to both the aramith Duramith resin, and the dynasphere resin.

I bought my super aramith pro set brand new, and from day 1 was disappointed at how dirty they get. In contrast, Duramith and dynasphere you can get by without even having a polisher.

The above is all for home use personal experience.

I also noticed my old Cyclops skittle balls stay clean for a very blong time, kinda like the Aramith Tournaments.

Interesting. I have both sets as well. Never had that problem. Currently have the super pros on my home table. Haven't cleaned them in months. Look like new. But I don't use masters chalk. When I take my tournament balls to the pool hall they come back very dirty.

I love my Dynaspheres Vanadium with Rhodium cue ball upgrade.

Great prices here:

Unfortunately, they seem to have / keep very low stock. If you spend over $200 euro, you get the tax free price and free shipping to the USA (I did a group order / sale on the Rhodium cue balls in the past).

I have a set of the Tournament Pro balls, traditional colors not the TV colors. I find the duramith balls to be dark. I prefer the Super Aramith Pro set. Colors are brighter.
I have a set of Aramith Tournaments (traditional colors) that I bought two years ago, and I think the colors are amazing. Every time I look at them, the deep, rich colors evoke the thought: classy.

I’ll let the readers guess what my recommendation is….IMO, there’s no choice……the brand also happens to be a great book by James A. Michener.

Just ordered the Brunswick Centennials.

I contacted Brunswick earlier today to ask what resin was used in the Centennials. Per their info the Centennials are now made using Duramith resin.

🎱😀
That is great news because as it stood before I would never buy a set of Centennials again even though they are my favorite looking ball because they mark up so fast compared to my Aramith Tournaments.

I'd cal the manufacturer...Aramith and ask the same question.

I contacted Saluc SA via email. Saluc SA is the company that makes both the Aramith brand and Brunswick brand cue balls. Unfortunately they have not responded.
I’m fairly certain Saluc only uses the Duranith resin on Aramith branded balls. I think they use the Super Aramith Pro Resin on the Centrnnials and Predator Arcos.
