Pool Chalk……Constantly Evolving……..What’s the Future?

I bought a box of Blue Diamond in 2012. Then Magic Chalk came along. As you can see, I have more than I’d use th3 remainder of my life. Of the two, I preferred Blue Diamond for price and comparable performance versus Magic Chalk.

But as Dr. Dave has articulated with precise explanations, empirical data and high speed camera, all chalks perform
alike which is to create friction and avoid miscuing. If you chalk after every shot, then there is perhaps a perceivable
miniscule difference but not so discernible as to crown any chalk as the best performing chalk. However, there is
irrefutable evidence that some chalks are much cleaner and do not require frequent, regular application to your tip.

To the best of my knowledge and personal experience, TAOM V10 has to rank as one of the best chalk for less frequent
application, avoiding needless chalk marks on the cue ball, casting off chalk dust from stroking and overall cleanliness.
When applied your cue tip by lightly swiping or brushing, V10 lasts a incredibly long time. My 1st piece is over a yr old.

The pool hall that I have an annual membership just received new Simonis gray cloth to recover all the Diamond 7’ &
tables. TAOM doesn’t offer a gray color chalk so the closet they make is a light blue. Well, thank goodness both TAOM & Pagulayan chalk, despite mine are green, is so clean it won’t matter in the slightest but TAOM does offer a light blue.

I really do miss playing on Simonis green cloth which happens to be my favorite color but they also have a blue green
that looks great. The Simonis dark green & English green don’t appeal to me as much so if not green, tournament blue.

So when it comes to chalk, use whatever you want but please always apply it to your tip away from the table’s cloth. It
irks me to no end to see a pool slob squeak chalk on his cue tip twisting it like a bolt nut directly over the table’s cloth.
You’ll discover little flake pieces of their excess chalk that never went on their cue tip & specs that came off by stroking.

I became accustomed to playing on Tournament Blue so I hope playing on the gray color cloth will be the same. I have
reservations but this isn’t my pool room The owners want to try a new, different look from the other local pool rooms.
I remember almost like a decade ago, googling "good chalk" or something and find some guy selling Russian magic on eBay. I still have 2 cubes left. I got a table recently with gray cloth and the blue marks bothered me. Skipped taom because it was green and round at the time, now I use pagulayan blue. No more marks

Chalk is just something people are constantly trying to reinvent, make better, and the more hype you can attach to Super Chalk the bigger the price. I use Master, Triangle, or Silver Cup, as I have a supply. If I Chalk between shots, it works fine.

Bought and tried the V-10 Green it was clean, but it never made it possible for me to run top 14/1 Record close to Willie Mosconi. Sold it removed my money I spent like fool, because I believe BS.

I Chalk between each shot, I do not miscue buy once in Blue Moon, and IMHO Chalk is Chalk. Dr. Dave my Hero does Chalk Review on U-Tube, his find are their if you interested in his EXPERT OPINION. He is not hyping, or selling CHALK.

Master Chalk is made in USA, Skip at Master the companies owner is good person, he support Pool. He makes Triangle also.

As I said Master, Triangle, and last Silver Cup are good solid Chalk's that work. Why spend over $20.00 for a single piece of Super CHALK. that is the latest greatest unless you playing almost as good as Mosconi, SVB, or, and chasing them to be the BEST?

JMHO
I thought exactly the same as you, a waste of money, I like chalk holders, I find it distracting to look for the chalk as part of my preshot routine, so I found a chalk holder I wanted but needed to spend $10 more to get free shipping, so I tried the TAOM V 10 chalk with the idea that it was a waste of money but at least I would prove that this chalk was really no different than any other chalk and just a gimmick and I was really only paying $10 for it, 2 years later I still had that same piece of chalk, was it better chalk? It was cleaner and I didn't need to chalk after every shot, I've wasted way more than $1 a month on pool stuff so I bought one more piece over a year ago and it's going to last at least another year since switching to Bulletproof Recoil tips, chalk retention on these tips is ridiculous, If I wasn't such a cheap bastard trying to get free shipping I probably would have never tried TAOM chalk.....

I use a pouch that attaches to my pocket or belt, it hold Chalk well. Tried V-10, IMHO it was CLEANER then Master, Triangle, or Silver Cup. v vi do over Chalk so the clean thing was no big deal.
The problem I have is the cubes eating through the liner. Just now occurred to me Taom is a disc. Might be worth the 20 bucks just for that.

Well I found one problem with the V-10 beside the price, I got back at sale, as I was owner two of the V-10 Round, someone else had to have.

Second drop it, it rolls away, problem was resolved with Thick Rubber Band around Round Part, if it fell, it died in place.

Sure if I fond someone to make a Lite Blue Green Chalk, with cool Label called Ultimate Unicorn Chalk, then found some starving high profile Pro Player to endorse for 50 Pizza coupons I could make a ton, two pieces for 12 bucks.

Create, Hype, Hype, Sell, make killing, selling SIZZLE no STEAK. BS sell with proper marketing campaign.

Will say again, Dr. Dave did the Chalk Testing, he don’t profit from selling, or endorsing any brand, his result deflated all the Chalk BS.

JMHO

PS Will be selling share in Unicorn for $100.00/share, IPO to happen in NASDEC. <<<<<_---HUMOR.

Well, if Walmart is selling original TAOM V 10 delivered for under $11, that should equivalently translate into a cost of less than 50 cents a month for pool chalk. If you apply TAOM the way Dr. Dave recommends and so many of us were already doing, TAOM Chalk will last more than a year. Just lightly brush it on your cue tip every shot, every other shot or once a rack. It doesn’t mark the cue ball, dirty the cloth, ferrules, shafts or hands. But Cocobolo Cowboy is spot on when he stated applying the chalk after every shot or other shot achieves the same thing except for the messiness of Masters & so many other chalks.

Cocobolo Cowboy is spot on when he stated applying the chalk after every shot or other shot achieves the same thing except for the messiness of Masters & so many other chalks.....I'll give him that 💯, but 25 cents a week or less is worth it to me for the cleaner balls, cue, and cue case.....

V10 is cleanest. I chalk every shot. I think i miss cue more with V10 than blue diamond and masters. So who the freak cares about clean chalk... skid will happen to both players, but miscues only happen to me.

Well if WallyWorld has it at $10.00 it a deal, is shipping FREE. Its under $10.00.

How come a Scandinavian product (?) is so much cheaper when it comes from china? Personally, I’d rather pay more to make sure it actually gets delivered in my lifetime.
