Seems a fair bet that the same person leveled the slate, can probably imagine how that turned out. From the looks of things the same guy set up the pockets too....

The repair work on the rails is coming along pretty good, got the Maple veneer on the first piece last night. Now to find a stain color I likeView attachment 835466

The formica came off intact so I have that to get the locations from. Will need new inlays. I like the look of diamond better than round, but more work to install. I haven't even looked to see what's available, Probably can get any shape I want. There's also the name plate, don't know whether I want to use the badly worn old one, get a reproduction, or neither.

First leg is done. The spreader also has new veneer on it. All of the veneer I am using on this table was cut from the same log.
