How do you do the joint end. With the tapered inside im curious what builders do.I use Tomahawk for the ends and heavy foam for fill
Just curious, what kind of weights are you hitting? Thanks!I use Tomahawk for the ends and heavy foam for fill
Just the butt of the cue.I'm just curious, is everyone talking Butts or shafts? Sounds like both.
It'll depend on the tube, and fill your using. Ive only made one full carbon fiber breaker and I don't remember what the weight came out to be. I used a really heavy foam because i wanted the weight on the high side. But you can make it what ever you want. You want a light cue use lighter foam, you want heavy use a heavy foam. You want heavier, put a weight in it.Just curious, what kind of weights are you hitting? Thanks!

My butt tube completely bare weighs 7.9oz so it wouldn't take much after all assembly to get it where I would like it, 16.5, 17.5ish. Just curious to see what anybody else has already done or is doing.KGoods,
I'll admit I misread the OP, and have been referring to shafts primarily, but construction is the same. I built one carbon fiber butt, it came out to about 13 oz - too light for me. I now know how I would weight it up, but it hit too soft IMHO, so I haven't tried again.
On a butt, I would simply tap 3/8-16 into the inside ends of the inserts and cut off appropriate lengths of all-thread to bring the weight up to whatever I wanted. On a shaft, I don't add any weight to the tip end, to keep the deflection low.
YMMV
