FYI to all - Sorry to say, but it is a LEGAL issue at this point, and a remedy may be too late, as attempts to liquidate have been made.

Are you saying the estate sold consigned cues without acknowledging that the cue was consigned or the consignee was not made whole?

Hoping somebody can help w this. I had a Tonkin cue on consignment with Joe that he sent to someone to get refinished. He told me who it was, but I didn't write down the name and now I can't remember it. I'm pretty sure it was a guy in Texas. Anybody have any guesses as to who he might have sent this cue to? Thanks in advance!

Numerous attempts to contact Joes estate have gone unanswered. Official legal documentation sent, with receipt confirmation received, with no replies.

Unfortunately a stolen property filing may be necessary by all consigners.

Any assistance/information into Joe Salazar' estate returning ALL CONSIGNED ITEMS back to their legal, rightful consigners appreciated.

Attached are images of MY remaining unsold cues, AND COA by Pete Tascarella, left With Joe Salazar under consignment at 2025 Derby City Classic.

Thank you

Man, sorry to hear that. Joe was a stand-up guy, it's unfortunate his family appears to have moved so fast liquidating what they believed to be his personal assets. I will keep an eye out for your cues.

I don't know his son's current status but he knew quite a bit about JS's business practice. I can't think of his first name, sorry.

FWIW, I had several cues on consignment w Joe as well. I reached out to his wife several times, including by certified letter. She finally got back to me after I hired a lawyer. She said she's been overwhelmed with all the usual overwhelming things that come when your husband of 50 years dies without clear estate plans. She said she hadn't even opened the cases since Joe died and was having a knowledgeable friend come help her sort through them. I had sent her pics of my cues and she said when they found them, she would set them aside and I could come pick them up. I booked a flight from Cali to DFW. A few days later, she let me know that she had talked to an estate lawyer who advised her not to give out any cues because of the liability. If she gives a cue to the wrong person, she's on the hook for it. He advised her to let everything go through probate and let the legal system handle it. That was on August 24th and I haven't heard anything since, other than that there's no public filing with the probate courts yet. I definitely sympathize. It's hard enough dealing with the loss and all the big responsibilities that are suddenly yours to deal with. Add in a bunch of angry cue-owners coming at you to get their cues back and I could see how someone could just shut down and not deal with it. I just really hope everything's on the up and up. It'll be very ugly if it's not. And you're right, Joe was SUCH a stand-up guy. It's a shame to see things going down like this.

There are 2 types of people to deal with when it comes to estates. Type 1 everything should be fair to all direct parties involved or parties indirectly involved w the estate, Type 2 EVERYTHING IS MINE FUCK all other parties involved directly or indirectly and if they are directly involved the sooner they are DEAD the faster I GET ALL THEIR SHIT TOO. From my horrific probate experiences "legally" the only thing that can't be OUTRIGHT stolen is real estate, anything aside from that can be lost, thrown away, misplaced etc.

I would IMMEDIATELY file a police report with whoever in law enforcement that you personally know and get them to contant local law enforcement and if you are lucky you MIGHT get your items back or be able to do small claims! If you go to an attorney they will want $1500 - 3000 and they WON'T DO SHIT other than lie and ruin your life.

law enforce. won't do dick in these cases, you can file all you want but them actually giving a shit and doing something is another story. doesn't sound to me like any crime has been committed either. if his wife has started probate process you just have to wait it out.
