Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

My view here is that $100 is a bargain to play a match against Fedor, a future BCA Hall of Famer.

How often and in how few sports does such an opportunity ever present itself? Obviously, if you can't afford it, that is another issue, but if you can, such a match would be a great experience.

In 1992, on the night before the US Open 14.1 event began, the 34-year-old SJM went to a fundraiser for the National Leukemia Foundation and there was an auction in which the highest bidder would get to play Mike Sigel a race to two. At about $175 (I don't really remember the exact amount), I was the highest bidder. I thought it was a bargain.

Getting on the table with an all-time great is a tremendous honor.

You got heart Stu, some of these guys are just terrified. They have no problem spending thousands of dollars for a cue, a lesson, case, table, etc. but don't want to mix it up with a champion for experience lol.

If I had the opportunity to play Fedor for money equaling 5 cubes of Taom chalk, it's a no-brainer.

I remember when Daniel Busch had the original POV Pool, SVB at maybe the Rum Runner in LWayges played king of the table for 20 bucks; made 800 bucks or something.

No.

It's a total and complete donation with zero honor. Fedor can give up numerous balls to just about anyone. He should be offering up 11-6 to all comers, still be stealing, but at least giving up a chance. Otherwise he can be like Woodward selling "worn" jerseys for $100.

Lou Figueroa
just what I want, lol

How many of those people have become champions or even a ball better? Id bet exactly zero.

Giving your $$$ to a pro puts you exactly in the sucker class.

Remember - if you can't spot the sucker - it's you

Well I would question how good you play? I'm sure your not a champion, very sure and I'd bet your not good player based on your comments. Anybody thats EVER played good spent time with someone that can. If your only measurement of improvement is becoming a champion or becoming a ball better you dont understand what improving means.

I play once or twice a year and still probably play around 600 speed. I've spent plenty of time around champions.

If you think improving is NOT becoming a ball better would make me question if you've ever played the game at all.

Keep throwing money away getting your little brain beat in.

If you think getting destroyed is good for your game you probably shouldn't gamble against me

That's a hot take, lol. I would have zero problem with it if he broke and ran the whole damn thing as long as I got a picture with him.

A few other said this and I agree it's true. When a top pro is free stroking without any pressure of losing, they could just play at a crazy speed. A 600-650 player is turned into a helpless rack boy. I'm not sure who could find that experience enjoyable.

I've heard that ball better or worse since I started playing and still don't know what it refers to. Is it the number of balls you can consistently get out on?

That's the same as you paying $100 entry fee for a 1-pocket tournament knowing you have no chance of winning.

Complete donation.

I think it's a lot closer than him asking for no spot.
I wonder if Amanda Nunes is cruising the local soccer mom's cardio kickboxing classes looking for sparring partners for an upcoming championship Ufc fight? And..... charging for the privilege.

Seriously what does this have to do with practicing for the pressure of DCC? Give me 12/3🤣

Lol, that is a horrible comparison. I would play Fedor Gorst, if I had an extra $100 to donate. There are other players that I would much rather donate too though. Like John Morra or Alex Pagulayan, to name a few examples.

I didn't watch the match but apparently he played a 600 fargo and he's one of, if not the best on the world. Even race is about 9/2.
What would a good comparison be if they played even?
He said he was looking for essentially a sparring partner.
Max Holloway sparring with an MMA pro with a record of 0-1?
I get what your saying about the donation and if you play Alex he will give you your $ worth in banter 1000%.

I'll simply say that you shouldn't Brag about being around a 600 speed, thats not the get the Money speed, thats a beginner. And if you spent plenty of time around champions you should be a ball better that 600.

Lastly if you think that spending/betting $100 is really gambling that speaks for itself.
