If Banks and One Pocket had a Fargo Rating system, then what players do you think would be in the 800's, or considered Elite level players?

I disagree. Here is a recent video from 1 month ago, showing Justin Hall beating Jesus Atencio twice in a true double elimination format, 9ball race to 7. Jesus is currently one of the hottest players on the tour and Hall beat him, twice in the finals. Granted, it was on an adolescent table, but he still won. I don't think Chohan can do that. I would have to see it.

I was thinking the same thing. I know that J Hall is a really great rotation player. I knew him as a rotation player before I knew him as any other type of player. I always really loved seeing him play.

I got to meet him in New Orleans about a year ago (at the Buffalos Classic), and he was really friendly, and super cool.

I like Tony but .....Hall is a better rotation player and can hold his own at 1pkt and or banks.

I know that J Hall and J Bergman are friends, and I think they grew up together, playing in the juniors. Anyways, I have seen them play each other, and thought they were pretty evenly matched. Again, I am no expert though. Bergman might play better.

Dennis was my personal GOAT for a very long time. Highly feared money player in all games. Nerves of steel. Enjoyed watching him play 10ball and one-pocket for the cash. Players avoided him on a regular basis lol. Also, he is fast as heck on a table, makes it even more enjoyable. Can't wait to see his return to American pool.

Dennis is so freaking good, that he beat this top New York player at his own game, playing Last Pocket 8 ball, in a big money match, in the guys own home room / pool hall. A player thought to be the best on the planet at the game. I forget the guys name though.

I imagine that Dennis would play anyone, at any game, that is on a pool table.

Sad that he overstayed on his visa, and got banned for like 10 years. Pretty harsh, just for overstaying, on a tourist visa.

I think that the same thing happened to James Aranas.

Fargo has shown over the years that the type of game played at the higher levels of skill does not make a difference, the best players in 9/10/8 ball will be at the top in other games as well. Does a great 1 pocket player have a better chance of beating an SVB/Filler/Gorst/Ko at their game than they would in 10 ball? Sure. But not that much of a better chance. Good way to look at this is by the DCC results.

If you look at the results at the Derby, the top Fargo players in general, are still the top finishers in both banks and one pocket, even if most of the Fargo data is pulled from 9/10/8 ball events.

2026 One Pocket: SVB
2026 Banks: Hall BUT.. Gorst was in the finals
2026 9 Ball: Filler

2025 One Pocket winner : Gorst
2025 Banks winner: Gorst
2025 9 Ball winner: Filler

2024 One Pocket winner: Gorst
2024 Banks winner: Filler
2024 9 Ball winner: Filler

2022 and 2023 is similar with Gorst winning 2 of 3 events.

2020 and earlier it is more varied, however the top overall players in Fargo, are still showing up as winners in 9 ball, banks and one pocket most often over the "specialists" like Brumback/Chohan/Frost, etc...

I would bet if you charted the top 20 world players who played at DCC over the years, the same players would be finishing top 8 at DCC in all disciplines as a rule, of course with some exceptions here and there.

Edit: Please disregard my Fargo question. Who do you think the very best Bank and One Pocket players in the world are? Top 10 for example?

If Banks and One Pocket had a Fargo Rating system, then what players do you think would be in the 800's, or considered Elite level players?

Justin Hall, for example? He has always been one of my favorite players. Always loved watching him play.

There are a few others, who are not world champions, who really impress me, at times too.

Please forgive me though. I do not really follow the sport, or the games. I just see these guys from time to time, like from the DCC, on youtube.

A few others who have really impressed me too, are guys like Tony Chohan, and Evan Lunda. I really love Evan Lunda's game. Chohan too. They are really great.

I know the obvious ones would be guys like, Pagulayan, Gorst, SVB, Bustamante, just to name a few. Maybe Josh Filler too. I believe that Filler could probably master any game that was ever invented, on a pool table.

Anyways, thanks for any thoughts about this.
Mike's system could easily be used isolated to give the answer....Just insert only one pocket scores and/or banks scores.

I think the results might surprise a lot of people.

reyes gomez is not a top player, he's like a high 600 fargo. yes it's a b*tch to play gaff games in his homeroom, but dennis is filipino and shark proof
