Alternative to Brunswick Superspeed cushions

I've seen several Brunswick tables from the late '90's, with Superspeed cushions that are still just fine. However, I've seen many from the early '90's, which have dry-rotted, and required replacement. Supposedly, the rubber composition changed in the mid-'90's. I don't know that to be 100% accurate, but it would make sense.

What do you mean by "banking sluggish"? Do you mean speed testing the table just straight up and down? When my cushions were brand new it went 4 3/4 to 5 lengths and it still plays about the same. I cant say that I have noticed any difference in mine yet other than the cloth is showing a good bit of wear.
 
I went from 3 maybe a little over on couple spots to 4 rails of bounce when I changed . I would have been happy with my 50 year old monarchs on my gc2 but there was a couple of sketchy places .

Very interested in the outcome of this comparison. I am in the process of redoing a new to me Gold Crown 3 and came across this post researching cushions. I am just about to the point where I need to order cushions and was taken back at the difference in price between the Artemis and the Brunswick. If you know of anything I should consider please let me know. I am leaning towards the Brundwick Super Speed since I am 67 yo now and not sure I will need more than ten years.

Here are a couple of videos I did comparing the two with a ramp setup for one rail lag speed. You can’t go wrong with either in my opinion. When setup by a good mechanic they are both very similar in performance. I haven’t noticed the short banking, but I’m really not a bank pool player.

I haven't tried the up and down test, in quite some time. My perception is from playing on a number of different tables. I think that it's fairly obvious that mine banks slower than it should.
Also of note: the nose height is 1.39". The current cloth is new Andy Premier (not yet broken in), which is absurdly fast and slick playing.

So its faster than 860? The nose height is a little low, correct? Shouldn't it be closer to 1 7/16"?? So your cushions should play a little quicker than if they were 1 7/16"?? So you're saying right now your table is in a "fast cloth, slow cushion" condition. I used to have to play on a Valley with 860 that was so worn it looked and felt like green paint, it was originally dark green but was now a light green/white in its worn condition, it played like you had to hit a rail to get the cue ball to slow down or stop. That was definitely a "fast cloth, slow cushion" table.

Exactly. Andy Premier is MUCH faster than even 760. And yes, my cushion nose height is much lower than it should be. I will be correcting it, whenever I get around to replacing the cloth and cushions. I don't play enough on the bigger tables, to justify taking the time to make the updates.
