How to Clean a Leather Burnisher?

however sealing and waxing doesnt keep it slick. and will change with the temperature and humidity.
if the pores are a little open and they are in wood then some outside tiny particles will fill them in.
the chalk doesnt hurt it. may not look brand new anymore. and if that is what a person agonizes over then something else needs to be done.
Thanks for the input maha, I'm trying out the Tiger cleaner and sealer products on a cheap shaft from Doctor Billiards on eBay and will see how that performs.

By the way, I cleaned up the Tiger burnisher with soap/water and a fingernail brush. Only took a few minutes and it cleaned up very nicely. The texture of either side does not appear to be affected much.

Thank you all for your various inputs and suggestions!

OK folks. Results are in. I used the Tiger sealer, and then the Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Paste Wax. I sanded with 1200 grit between coat of wax. Last coat of wax I used the Tiger burnisher and burnish the shaft at higher speed on the lathe.

Had travelled a bit for work, but had about 5-hours of play time last night and the shaft feels great, AND it didn't seem to pick up chalk dust like then the past.

Each morning after playing, I go over the shaft with a damp paper towel to remove chalk, and there was visibly less chalk cleaned from the shaft.

I always thought that burnishing was for the tip only, so I'd like to extend my thanks to all the folks who provided information on burnishing the shaft!!

Thanks!
