Thanks for the input maha, I'm trying out the Tiger cleaner and sealer products on a cheap shaft from Doctor Billiards on eBay and will see how that performs.however sealing and waxing doesnt keep it slick. and will change with the temperature and humidity.
if the pores are a little open and they are in wood then some outside tiny particles will fill them in.
the chalk doesnt hurt it. may not look brand new anymore. and if that is what a person agonizes over then something else needs to be done.
By the way, I cleaned up the Tiger burnisher with soap/water and a fingernail brush. Only took a few minutes and it cleaned up very nicely. The texture of either side does not appear to be affected much.
