“It wasn’t easy,” said Poland’s Wiktor Zielenski, minutes after he’d completed an undefeated run through the field of 176 entrants to win the 2026 Diamond Open NineBall Players Championship at this year’s Super Billiards Expo in Oaks, PA over this past weekend (April 9-12). Anybody met Zielenski? I did. Not a fan. Not sociable at all. I saw him and talked briefly at the International Straight Pool tournament in 2024. I also talked to other fans about him, since he gave me the cold shoulder and they said the same thing. I don't ask for autographs and hardly say anything by the way. Mika on the other hand, dealing with cancer and was still upbeat and appreciated me saying he was one of my favorite straight pool players. Niels was also very sociable and appreciated that I watch all his straight pool content. He said he would do more, but it isn't liked as much as the rest of his stuff. Anyway; anyone have anything nice to say about Zielenski besides his awesome game? Brian
