I flash back to my first up close observation of the professional pool in the 80s. Started in 84 or 5 (I think). The last lake Tahoe event. Then once a year for the late 80s.
I certainly didn't mind the daily entry fees. 🤷‍♂️

WEll 8 ball is an Old Man game. The ultimate is one and 15 in the side, last pocket. With both sides available until one is claimed. Same for the 8 ball a pocket is never shared.
Couldnt lose more than a couple dollars an hour, back when I did the Senior center on Sundays.
Edit: A variety would be side pocket make of 1 or 15 destination of that side for the 8 ball. 3 pockets available.
 
When things get fuzzy.....is when the training kicks in. Ah Kick one in for the win is an exhilarating feel.

Okay in my humble opinion the Fear Factor got me a breath of air. A scratched 8 ball was His downfall. At a point where a skunk would have been probable. 🤷‍♂️
