What is a cue’s “hit”?

He likes stirring the pot. 😁
What did the SupremeCourt justice say about pornography? "I can't describe it but i know it when i see it" I can't define a cue's hit but i know it when i feel it. Everyone has their own aspects of a cue's hit/feel that they feel is important. PJ has played long enough to know that there is no definite answer to this.

does this cue fit the definition.... ;)

Good post - the highlighted part above is the only part I don't fully agree with.

In pool "how much spin" means how high is the spin-to-speed ratio (the measure that determines angle change off a rail). Spin-to-speed is determined purely by how far from center you hit the cue ball with any cue - hitting the CB on the same spot will produce the same spin-to-speed ratio for all cues at all speeds.

It seems according to 'Your Logic', there should Only be one style cue to 'Play' with!

What would the 'Perfect' cue be, Specs?

My logic is there's no practical difference, so play with what you like best. Your "logic" seems to be "all cues" = "one style cue".

What's Your 'Criteria' for Best?

Why do You 'Play' with a 9-10mm tip instead of 11.5-12mm!

There must be a 'Reason' for You!

I like Very simple!

I already gave 'My' specs!

Unless there's another ball on the way to the cushion. You can now explode the ball (ram) in high gear (near the center) leaving a furiously spinning ball on a decaying vector.

Yep, and spin-to-speed can also be increased by hitting lower and slower so speed rubs off more than spin. But those are due to the player's skill, not the cue's qualities.

mMaybe. Any break stick vs an old Meucci frinstance. I'd pick the break stick.
That'd probably give you a little more power for the same stroke - one of the few objective cue benefits - which could be duplicated with another cue and a slightly faster stroke.

Actually, I like learning what others think about things in case one of us missed something. If I think you did, I might try to be helpful by pointing it out. Some don't like being "corrected"...

Don't get your feathers ruffled PJ. We all know how much you contribute!! Loosen up my friend and have a laugh at yourself now and then.
You can laugh at me anytime.

Since I play with earbuds respectively now, I need that tactile sensation, awareness coming down into my hands. My eyes can tell if I hit it good, but the feel is also very important. You know when you've stroked off a difficult shot. You can feel it resonate in the cue.
Since my game currently sucks, pay no attention to any of this. 😉
I seem to keep buying these pretty hunks of lumber with no visible improvement, but damnit I have hope on my side!
