Fantasy Football...

Bare with me here for a second, this is all about pool. I was thinking and we're starting to get an established tour with the WNT and as it expands (if...) And it becomes more prevalent, couldn't we expand interest by having fantasy pool leagues?

What led me to thinking about it was the thread on pool organizations and the mentioning that amateur pool leagues don't promote pro pool and have no real reason to (I don't necessarily agree with that, but for arguments sake).

Why shouldn't we start fantasy pool leagues. Of course it would make more sense if there was a pro league that was formatted more like the mosconi cup type events. I had actually floated the idea of doing that anyways with city based groups similar to other pro team sports. Maybe as pool expands, Matchroom can do something to that effect and then it would be more feasible.

There kind of is already. Kind of...

It's played more like DFS style though where you pick each event. There's an iphone app called, wait for it... fantasy pool!

There are a lot of barriers why it won't work like football does mostly that the events aren't always easy to find or even know when they happen unless you are really tuned in. It's virtually never on tv so it's hard to get casuals to care about it. There's no "season" or start and end. There are no "teams".

I could go on but aside from getting a group of guys at your pool room to do like a 6 team/5 or 6 player snake draft for the biggest events, it's gonna be tough to get started. Tough to get Fantasy NASCAR off the ground and I live less than an hour from a major track and thats a much much bigger sport TV and sponsorship wise.

I remember NASCAR fantasy being big 25 years ago.

If we still think ESPN is the inclusion to mainstream. Then you would want their morning radio affiliates to be talking about them.

Something like: It’s survey Wednesday here on ESPN radio and every ninth caller draws a name for this weekends Nashville Nineball presented by Matchroom MultiSport.

We’ll be down at Slim and Chubby’s this Thursday from 7 to 9 for the annual Mosconi Cup draft. Drink and food special’s brought to you by Window Warriors, their exclusive triple pane tech is being offered two for one if you call today and use code Fedor’s Finger Fungus.

Now let’s take a look out our triple Doppler weather window and give you your Guardians game time firecast.
