Sofia Mast "retiring?" The state of American pool

If you haven't listened to Jeanette Lee's interview on the Legends Of The Cue podcast you should. She tells what it took for her to become financially successful. She hustled hard. She attended every event, she lobbied companies (not just pool related) and still had time to practice and played great. It was not an easy path or one that was clearly laid out for her. All pro pool players could take a lesson from what she did.

As the saying says, you can wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills up first...

They're real close. I think Sofia has the slightest edge in historical match ups. But clearly Savannah played better in this past tournament, seems more dedicated (for now), and at almost two years younger probably has the higher ceiling.

It'll be interesting to see what decision Savannah makes in a couple years when it's her turn to choose her career path. She still needs to get quite a bit better to not need a real job.

Just some random information but, given Sofia is/was my favorite junior player and Savannah is her closest rival I've been following their Fargo rates for years now. Sofia has always had a higher ranking since I've been watching. I started when they were in the 630's, Sofia was always 5-10 points above but Sav recently started catching up and recently they tied up. I believe it was 675 when they tied. The other day I opened the app and they were both at 677, today I opened it and the app refreshed and Sav went to 678, app refreshed a few seconds later and Sofia went to 678. I'm assuming that Sofia has won more matches between the two of them and when Sav's FR went up Sofia's was bumped up because of it. I don't have a lot of games (254) but I did beat the highest rated player in the area and when I saw his number going down, mine went down with it.
