How Can I Make My Pool Table Cloth Play Like It's Worn? 😂

View attachment 938982 It looks better from a distance. 😉
The rack area is showing uh discoloration of the cloth from hands racking.
Mike Sentz was a friend er good friend 🤷‍♂️ in my Tacoma rise through the ranks days. 🤔 80s somewhere in there...😉
Mike's home table showed incredible tracks for his practice regimen.
I think it was Mike that gave me a little push with confession of wager on me. 🤷‍♂️ 5 bucks Baby! Well a show of confidence as I went into the race to 7 match for the point. Playing the unknown to me East side of Washington state champion that had dispatched DAN Louie!!!!! I won. Can't remember how or why. Pretty sure there were multiple early 9 balls.
Never showed that end of the table.

Hello APA players and Fargo 600+,

I have a GC3 pool table, but I only play about 1 - 2 hours per week, yes that's right!

The new cloth and rails (new rubber/cushion) were installed two years ago, and they still look and feel practically brand new. I keep the table covered all the time.

The balls slide really fast, and the rails don't seem to grab English as well as the tables at my local pool hall with well-worn cloth.

Is there anything I can do to make my table play more like a well-used pool hall table? Any tricks to wear the cloth out without actually playing on it? LOL.

I swear, next time I change my cloth, or when a pool hall replaces theirs, I'm going to ask if I can take their worn cloth and pay for new cloth for them. 😂

I'm looking for ways to slow the balls down a little and get better action off the rails. Any suggestions?

I also made the mistake of replacing the rail cloth & rubber when the table was recovered. Any long angle bank shot now goes way wide. Could be an advantage over any competitors you invite, if you don’t warn them 😁. Having to adjust to varying play conditions is merely another skill set that needs to be mastered.

I have a friend with the same complaint. He ended up taking his Roomba vacuum and just let it run around on the table for a few hours. It largely solved his complaints but had a hard time reaching the shelf inside the jaws of the pocket. He worked on those by hand. Table now looks like new cloth but plays like it is much more used..

Eat some barbecue chicken and don’t wash your hands before you play. Get a pitcher of dark beer and spill it on the table and allow your friends to ash their cigars on the table. If you use a glove switch over to powder and don’t be stingy with layering it on your barbecue sauce covered hands. Also eating Cheetos while playing should round out a proper table treatment. After that you should be ready to take on any weekly dive tournament.

Oh, you also need to get a buddy who doesn't know how to jump properly try jumping a couple of hundred balls, tell him to attempt a bunch of masse's also, that should give you all the proper rips and tears.

Not keeping a cover on it may help a little bit
