Qatar World Cup 10-Ball 2026

The Final 16.

Jonas Magpantay vs Wojciech Szewczyk
Rocky Tullao vs - John Morra
Miguel Salvilla vs Jerico Bonus
Joshua Filler vs Tobias Bongers
Carlo Biado vs Konrad Juszczyszyn
Dương Quốc Hoàng vs Daniel Macioł
Fedor Gorst vs Hsieh Chia Chen
Jundel Mazon vs Aj Manas

A lot of big names gone - and some surprising names left. Never heard of Rocky Tullao of Miguel Salvilla, but of course they are Filipino. Looks like a 750-ish Fargo for both.

Seven Pinoys in the final 16. Manas might be poised for a break through. He's never gone past the final 16 in a major event.

Hsieh Chia Chen has had a strong year. Lot of deep runs, and he won the recent mixed doubles Predator event.

Maciol won this event in 2024. He hasn't really built on it, though.
A tasty final sixteen, with a nice mixture of the superelite, proven contenders, and a couple of surprises.

I would like to see Manas break through. He should have a close match with Mazon, but would then likely face the daunting task of beating Fedor to reach the semis.

Defending champ Magpantay vs World 10ball champ Szewczyk looks like a dandy in the round of sixteen!

With 100K for first, one of these sixteen will enjoy a nice score this week. Best of luck to all of them.

Shane has the best 10 ball break.

Ridiculous that he wasn't invited to this tournament.
There is absolutely no evidence for the contention that he was not invited. I'd bet the house he was invited and declined. If he was not invited and wanted in, he'd have been given a wild card if he asked for one.

The Asian swing has been absolutely crazy, with the China Open, World 10ball, Bali 10ball, Reyes Cup and Philippines Open already in the books. As was the case a year ago, some of the WNT elite chose to skip the Qatar event. Contrastingly, Filler opted to skip the WNT Philippines Open, quite possibly so he'd be fresh for the Qatar event, an event he has won before.

Let's cut the players some slack here. Even the biggest stars of the game need a break from competition from time to time. Happily, we've reached the point where the top players need not play in every major to earn a living.

Filler said he had a critical Visa meeting that had been prescheduled in Germany to explain missing the Philippines Open. He also hadn’t seen his wife in a while because both had been traveling. Everyone needs to recharge.

Thanks for that. My mistake, although I noted that I was not sure. Josh skipped the Philippines Open in 2025 to go to Qatar.

I think we all love the Asian swing and the opportunities that it has offered to the players for some serious prize money earnings As you note, however, hopping from country to country in Asia and competing week after week is a challenge, so we must keep our expectations in line.

We all want to see our favorite players in every event that we follow but must understand that we won't always get that. Family issues, fatigue issues, health issues sponsorship obligations and even business obligations sometimes get in the way.

Even as a fan, I sometimes need to recharge, LOL.

Do we know this to be true (that he wasn’t invited)?
SVB had a clinic to hold...

Filler posted on Facebook that he'd skipped the Philippines Open as he'd had an appointment relating to sorting out his VISA to go to America for the Mosconi

Edit: sorry posted this without reading full thread first, just realised jbart already told you this so my post was pretty redundant

A 10 ball event without SVB is like thanksgiving without a turkey.

A real shame SVB is not here.
SVB has medaled just once in a 10ball major (let's say that means field of 96+, an internationally diverse field and at least 25K for first) in the last two years and not even once this year. He is, of course, always a contender, but hasn't been one of the top few at the 10ball majors for quite a while now.

Like you, I'd have liked to see him in this field, but like the other top pros, he doesn't play in every single event.

You had a bit more detail. I didn't hear the part about it being Mosconi related. That said, I wouldn't like to be away from my wife for a month or two.

I have to wonder if he and other Americans thought they might be a target in the Middle East. Only one or two native-born Americans entered the event.

C
fedor out, biado out (impressive win by konrad). the poles are playing strong in this one!
Chia Chen, as I noted before, has been a quite a roll this year. Probably his best results every in one season. Playing like a 800-plus Fargo lately. Last I checked I think he was in high 700s range.

Woj is clearly one of the best 10-ball players in the world. Gets to the quarters, though he's down 5-2 to Morra.

AJ Manas was impressive again. His highest finish ever and still going.

If Filler wins, as it looks like, he would face the winner of Woj-Morra for a spot in the semifinals.

Winner of Konrad-Maciol would play the winner of Chia Chen-Manas in the semis.

Sure seems to be lining up for a big payday for Filler. He really should win it all.

Nice play from AJ Manas earns him a spot in the semis where he will play Daniel Maciol. The 10ball giant Szewczyk is also on to the semis. Filler will meet him if he can close out his quarterfinal, in which he leads 9-7. We shall see.

Update: Filler has won it and will meet Szewczyk.

I know Woj has lost 10 straight to Filler and I cannot find a record of him having ever beaten Josh in a singles match. Every time I've seen them play, Woj has looked intimidated. It's about time he beat Filler.

Have to agree. At 9ball, Szewczyk would quickly concede that he's not Filler's equal, but neither is anyone else. Yes, we all remember Filler's 13-1 effort at the UK Open 9ball final in May.

That said, 10ball is another story. These two have been the two best 10ball players in 2026. Filler won the Las Vegas Open 10ball, won the Bali 10ball and came 3rd at the World 10ball. Szewczyk won the World 10ball and was third at the Las Vegas Open. Oddly enough, despite their deep runs at the 10ball majors this year, they never played each other.

Tomorrow's semi seems like a coin toss. May the best man win.

A Filler vs. Manas finals would be highly entertaining.
For me, the best thing about it is that it would be played at 5:30PM Qatar time. That's a very comfortable 10:30AM in New York.

Manas would be quite the Cinderella story if he lifts the trophy tomorrow, but why not? At Fargo 805, he is rated as World #66.

The other three have already succeeded in the biggest spots and won't find the moment too big to handle.. Maciol (Fargo 823) and Filler (Fargo 866) are both former Qatar champions. Szewczyk (Fargo 838) is the reigning World 10ball champion.

Filler vs Manas with a major title riding on the outcome? Yeah, that would be a hoot.
