seems like it has become clear who is begging for money for someone that may not even be getting it.

or that if he does, it just may go to pay tiny amount off a giant medical bill that will never get paid.

giving money for sympathy, soon becomes pathetic in most cases.

Nothing has become clear, you just assume.What if all the money goes to Martinez?

This is not GoFundMe. It is a Canadian website called fundrazr.com that does something similar. According to an online comparison of the two, FundRazr seems to charge slightly less in overhead and they both seem to charge less than 4% deduction.

Like you, I have a problem with charitable requests where I have no idea what the money is actually being used for or who is getting it. If Rafael has continuing problems, and he needs donations, whoever is helping him needs to start a new campaign and provide current status.

There is an update on the site from Nov 2025 that says he was improving, even having played in a tournament. That was a year ago. Regardless though how is he doing now. I saw him play a number of times and wonder how he is today. I am surprised to not having read anything about all this in the past.

Maybe RM would be well served to give forum members an update given that it seems the fund raising info is from a year ago.
