I totally agree, any downtime is money lost, and obviously if you can find a way to either break even or actually generate profit on the lease/expenses during the off season, that's a no brainer.

Its never really "luck" if you call a pocket. However, say you take a 10% shot, and you make it......you did just have the 1/10 time you are going to make that shot come up when it counted. Agreed, and if BB did not contractually obligate their players to make their events they should schedule around huge things like matchroom. If they didn't contractually obligate players or work with them, then they deserve to be left in the dark when a player takes off to play.
