    Logs / Notebooks?

That's pretty much where my head is now - and I've got a lot of those clear plastic sleeves. Logging drills and games by date and either time or ball count on drills.

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

No, I understood you were only talking about some times, but every time I see somebody twist around and shoot behind their back it looks silly and hopeless - like a snail trying to crawl backwards - then in a spot-check I found the YouTube link that looked as goofy as Wayne's World and I had to...

    Racking ethics

This is one of the hardest things for me to get my head around - How in the Thunder did anyone ever decide that your opponent should rack for your break? Sorry if this is an amateurish perspective - but that just seems stupid...

    Logs / Notebooks?

Does anyone use logs or notebooks for their practice and/or games? If so, what's in them? I'm thinking I need to start a notebook... (I'm that kind of guy). Thanks!

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

:rotflmao1: That is SO bizarre to me when I see somebody trying to shoot behind their back instead of using the bridge - I know they see all the pro players doing that all the time... :rotflmao: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4Uu758dG2M

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

Been an interesting drill session today. Actually, this method is what worked for me. I've been focusing on keeping my chin inline with my cue - which works great for right-handed shots. But for left shots, I can't effectively switch to my left eye in a dominant role (epic fail), instead I...

    best shaft for easier backspin

So what the experts here seem to be saying is that reducing the shaft to 12mm does not benefit cue ball control, and likewise I suppose, a 13mm shaft does not benefit long, straight shots. Tip hardness also makes no difference. You just have to be good, and use whatever works for you..

    best shaft for easier backspin

Yeah, but we did go from arrows to Colt .45s! :D (and thence to Glock 45s)

    best shaft for easier backspin

No, let me reword for clarity - going from a 13mm generic-tip shaft to a 12mm Kamui soft tip shaft, the same stroke gave me so much more English that I had to reduce my stroke, and reduce distance from cue ball center for the same effect. The importance of the stroke is not in debate, but...

    best shaft for easier backspin

Can't agree that it's all stroke. Going from a generic cue to my playing cue made a huge difference in English - went to a 12mm shaft with a Kamui soft tip. It reduced both the distance from cue ball center and how hard I had to hit to get the same draw or English. My cue BTW is a Lucky...

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

Thanks for that, I'll try it! So far, I've been moving my head up higher off the cue and looking at the shot from multiple angles like a bird - sounds like the piece I needed! :)

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

Can you elaborate on that? That can't be easy to do! I'm right-handed and right-eye dominant, and I shoot with both eyes open. Do you close one eye or just kind of shift your attention?

Bemoaning the rise of the bar box

I don't believe it. I think the population density and free market economy will maintain the niche for nice pool halls with 9 ft tables. The majority is already 7 ft bar boxes, but that's been the case for a long time now. The difference is whether you're in a pool hall with a bar, or in a bar...

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

Right now I try to start each session with a stroke drill which has helped a lot, shooting down the table into the corners with the concentration on using perfect form (bridge, grip, stance, alignment). I carefully work through the going rack down the table right handed, and then come back up...

Upgrade to elephant ear leather wrap

OH - I thought you were going to recommend cadaver tissue for cues! (although, one of those cues with skulls all over it could benefit from human skin...)

    Do you shoot ambidextrously?

So, shooting up and down the table do a lot of players switch between Left and Right hand shooting, or do most players always shoot only with their dominant hand? I've been switching between left and right (and drilling left and right) and it seems to be working for me fairly well, even though...
