When Do You Spot 8-Ball in 8-Ball Game ?

In my neck of the woods, - You need to kick it - You don't lose when don't hit the 8-ball. The opponent doesn't get ball-in-hand neither. Just play where it lies. (basically, we assume best effort in this case not that the opponent is trying to hook me up by intentionally missing the 8-ball) -...

    Golf more exciting than Pool?

The rich and famous have long deserted billiards in general. Golf is the game of choice of influential people. Whether we like it or not, if the rich and famous think that polishing poop is exciting that is what we are going to see on TV.

Home Table - APA or BCA rules?

Unless you are inviting non-acquaintances to challenge you in your house, just use the same set of rules that you use when you are just hanging in the bar with your friends.

SVB is a machine... now what?

Long game favor the Asians. Filipinos are known to gamble for days. Taiwanese are known to practice like machine. Basically, for many Asian players, pool is a way of life. It is not secondary to anything.

Scratch on break - ball in hand - not in kitchen

If you mean the WPA 8-ball rule then the new rule that you posted is more in-line with the current world standardized rule. - Scratching on the break is a foul which means BIH - Making the 8-ball and scratching is Kitchen. Then opponent can ask the 8-ball to be re-spotted, or he can re-break.

    playing safe in 8 ball

I don't believe 1a is true. You will need to continue shooting if you pocket an object ball legally. 2 and 3 are related. When you call a "safety", you need to pocket your object ball (in some variation of the rule, it is sometimes a foul if you missed your object after calling a safety) and...
