Just to clarify, you mean RH and LH from the shooter's view or the racker's?

So when is the exhibition match with Richie?

round/flat tip how much does it affect spin

ok, you are wondering whether a more rounded tip will let you apply more english, right? Generally you want a dime or nickel shape to your tip. You should buy shaper in both dime and nickel shapes. Try both and see which you like better. You may find that the dime will give you a little more...

    Off the rail

Wow, I can't believe the variety of advice you're getting here. Here's my two cents. First find out if you're cutting the ball to the left (aim is off) or you are throwing the ball to the left (spin on cueball). For perfectly straight shots like #3, don't even look at the object ball just...

Tip Choice-does it matter??? What does Efren use?

Different types of tips have a different feel to them - hard to soft, layered, not layered. Layered tips are generally more consistent from tip to tip and hold their shape much better. I suppose once you get used to a certain tip you can play just as well with anything. That being said my...

    Pushing whitey vs. Hitting whitey

Typically in all the tournaments I've played push shots are illegal. You are only allowed to stroke through frozen balls at at least a 45 degree angle. So you can't even stroke straight through a frozen ball with english to throw the object ball, let alone push them in any way.

There's also Shooting Gallery. But I like Poolhall Junkies and The Color of Money better.

    Squirt/Deflection On This Shot

Like someone said above, backhand english is great for this type of shot. And like someone else said above, you should be practicing this shot hundreds of times. You need to "train your brain" how to make this shot consistently (with or without english). This will only happen after hundreds...

    These Situations Plague Me

don't use side english unless you really need to. that shot didn't require it and just made it more difficult. NEVER shoot a shot when you are second guessing something. you'll almost always miss. stop, stand up, and start over. like someone above said, you have to have confidence when you...

    Tips For This Shot

You need a straight stroke and a good eye. Even a pro may miss this shot once or twice out of ten. To check your stroke, put the on the middle of the end rail, shoot it straight to the other end rail and see if you can get it to bounce back right to your tip. If you can't are either not...

    Who has an AE?

I'm selling mine on eBay now. Not because I don't like it, but I lost my job and need money desperately! It plays very well. I like it as much or better than most of the sticks I've played with (Joss, Meucci, Schon, Pechauer, Players, Predator) The only stick I like better, as far as the...

    Inside English Shot

What Tokyo-Dave said! Just set the balls up and try each way 20 times. I'm sure you'll realize the shot you chose is much more difficult and less consistent.

What Did I Do Wrong Here?

Looks like some work on your draw stroke will help you out. With a good stroke you could have drawn two rails around the eight for position on the two. But at least from where you ended up you should be able to draw back somewhere between the six and eight for better position on the three...

    Heavier cue for breaking?

According to Robert Byrne in his book Advanced Technique in Pool and Billiards, page 37, he says, "To find out how fast the cueball will go after being hit by a cue, double the weight of the cue, multiply it by the speed of the cue, and divide the result by the sum of the weight of the cue and...

    Danny Medina robbed in Vegas.

I'm going to Vegas in May. Forgive me for being ignorant, but is downtown the strip? I'm guessing not. Is the strip generally safe or should we take cabs everywhere?

    Making balls the easy way

I think the answer to all 3 of your situations is the same. If the object ball is coming off a rail or point left of the pocket the object ball would have right spin (left spin on cueball). If coming off a rail or point on right side of pocket left spin on object ball (right spin on cueball)...

    Side spin does not transfer

My god, why are you all still discussing this? In the situation being discussed, side spin is transferred from the cueball and only sidespin, forward spin is caused from the friction of the felt. Those are two different effects caused by two different things. These are indisputable facts.

Anyone know what tip Action Elite cues have

Hey thanks a lot. I've heard of Kamui tips, but don't know anything about them. I just picked up an AE. Played with it once yesterday and was curious about the tip. I think I like it. Seems like a good quality cue for how inexpensive it is. (I know some of you are probably cringing after...

Anyone know what tip Action Elite cues have

Action Elite cues have a "10-layered, vacuum-sealed, proprietary boar skin tip." Does that mean they make it themselves or that another company makes it for them exclusively or is it just a standard tip? Thanks in advance if anyone knows.
