    ID this cue anyone?

It has 2 short points and 2 long points. Wrap was removed. The pin is 5/16" x 18. The writing on the point looks like it was added on top of the finish then maybe clear glue added on top of it. Any ideas would be great.

Can anyone ID this cue ??

ok, managed to get some free time. The screw for the ferrules are 3/16" x 24. The shaft with the long screw (1" long) is 19/64" x 18 The shaft with the short screw (5/8" long) is 5/16" x 18 Both screw on tight. The short screw one is more then likely the original shaft since the black...

Can anyone ID this cue ??

Hey there Chris. Yes, the ferrules are threaded inside and the ones on the shafts start to screw off when I turn them. One neat thing about the cues is the green marble or pearl I guess it's called. Its very rich with a lot of pattern to it. I have many Rich cues from this era with that stuff...

Just got this neat old tool

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific in the first post. It's a Rockwell overarm router/shaper. It shares a few parts from the Delta light duty shaper. In the upper position it's a pin router and in the lower position it's like a router table. I think you could also run special shaper...

Just got this neat old tool

Thanks for the replies, I was just curious. Like I said, I gave it to my father for his shop. I collect old tools so I find a lot of interesting machines. I outfitted my fathers shop with over 20 machines, almost all vintage US metal and a few shopsmiths. Well Joey, it's over 200lbs so it...

Just got this neat old tool

I gave this machine to my father. I was just curious though, could this sort of machine be useful in a cue making shop? Its 2 HP and has 1/4" & 1/2" collet. The motor can be mounted above the table (pictured) or below the table. The foot peddle moves the table upward for pin routing.

Thanks for all the info so far. Very interesting. I collect/buy/sell old tools so I will be hunting for one with some age to it. Ive had a few in the past Gorton, New Hermes etc. They never seem to cost alot. I paid under 100 for all of them. I remember the Gorton was a ton O fun, think I got...

    Info about Pantographs

As I am ever so slowly collecting tools to one day give cuemaking a try (as a hobby). I recently aquired a lathe, so now I thought I would look for a pantograph. Are cuemakers still using these? What should I look for in one? Table size? 2d or 3d? Ratio needed? Any other tips/advice?

    Help with cue ID

I bought the one on eBay. I must say, the cue suprised me, its nicer then I expected. Plus I am a sucker for segmented turning. Just curious though, how collectable/valuable are Saul cues? I dont want to sell it but I was thinking about having it refinished. -Jason

Before there was small Vari motors....

Imagine attaching that variable speed motor to a taig or sherline. Just bought this neat old lathe to add to the collection of vintage tools. Its not a cue lathe but I though you guys might get a kick out of the old variable speed motor. Its made by Hobart Bros. Troy, OH. Motor is Variable 1...
