Help identifying Some wood and ferrule material

I need some help identifying some wood and ferrule material. The ferrule material I got from Prather in a grab bag and have no idea what it is. As for the ferrule material, if no one can tell from the pictures, maybe there is some test I can do to figure it out. I think the material is either...

Do you need to use Nelsonite?

qbilder, thats what I thought. I have not used Nelsonite, or Resolute and have not had any problems yet. I figured that is was not necessary but figured I would ask.

Do you need to use Nelsonite?

I know it is used for wood stabilization. It helps for the changes in climatic conditions from one place to another. It helps stability and consistency in your cues. The wood will not become stressed out and it will prevent problems. I don't know if it is absolutely necessary.

    G-10 Joint Pin

Thank you for the information. I figured it was for the weight and it sounds like it's not a good idea to use. I'll stick with Titanium.

    G-10 Joint Pin

This may be a very basic question, but I had a customer ask and had no idea, told him I would find out. What is the deal with these G-10 Joint Pins from Atlas? Are they just to make the cue lighter? Why would you use them? It would seem to me if it was a weight issue you would use ALUMINUM, but...

    Cue Extension ?

So I have just recently started building cues, but have been doing repairs and maintenance for about 2 and 1/2 years.
