Traveling pool players need Class C Motorhome.

I was gonna buy one of those once. But when you factor in the cost of repairs, insurance, extra gas, hook ups, it starts getting expensive. And then, where are you gonna park that beast? Even without a hook up, it would be cheaper to drive a small car and stay at a super 8.

APA in NYC made several new rules called "FastPlay"

It's not rocket science, no. But to a 2 or 3, sometimes it may as well be. But I'm not gonna be the guy sitting there with a stop watch going, sorry but that's a foul.... you just took 5 seconds over your limit. It'd be tough to respect anyone making such a call. Nobody wants to win on someone...

APA in NYC made several new rules called "FastPlay"

I thought the apa was supposed to be about fun. But 30 second shot clocks aren't fun. 60 seconds to declare an opponent? I forsee arguments. Calls based on tiny incraments of time are bound to piss people off. Players at the bar, outside smoking, in the bathroom, etc. Some guys are real...

Is NYC Going To Be The New Big Thing?

The tournament scene is doing well in Queens. Better than it has in years, and it seems to grow slowly. I'd have to say though, that action is still slow as compared to the 80's and 90's. Lots of locksmiths out there, and they all know each other. You don't even see much barking, nothing like...

Raking the balls - unsportsmanlike or not??

I think were all talking about raking in a nasty way. Nobody minds if the balls are pushed up softly. Its all about how its done, almost as if something was said. If its the first set or match of the night, I agree raking can keep an opponent "cold." Cold or not though, I try to shrug it off...

    Predator 1080 Chalk...

Super easy to keep hold of with the 'ribbed' design. I dunno about you guys, but that sounds like a condom commercial to me. Ah well, I guess my mind is in the gutter!

    Best "standard" Shaft

All good, its just a matter of opinion. If you want something inexpensive, I recommend the McDermott Lucky Cue for less than $50. http://www.ozonebilliards.com/lucky-cues-l9.html

Is An LD Shaft Helpful On A Bar Box?

For me, it all depends on the cue ball. Normal cue ball, I use my normal Z-2 cue. If its big or heavy, or both....I prefer a more solid shaft or cue.

Do any LD shafts hit like normal shafts?

Tiger makes some nice L/D shafts too. Compared to say, a Z-2, they feel much closer to normal.

    Best "standard" Shaft

It doesn't need to cost more than 200, unless you ask what the best shafts are. We always want the best, but get what we pay for.

    Fishing and Billiards.

Haha, I may as well try one of those, cant do any worse. I got trout right in my back yard, but I dont catch much. They look at me, I look at them. They eat my bait, but don't like the hooks much!

Did anyone hear Jayson Commenting about doing deals with SVB?

I agree its not good for the fans or the game. But when players split, its practically the norm. Not much can be done about it, so factor that in if you enjoy Calcutta betting. Even if it were a winner take all format, many players would still be splitting the cash privately. Most guys are happy...

WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

Eureka, I finished reading this post! Below is a short review of what I can remember. First thing that comes to mind is the patience CJ has. Enduring that wave of harassment, very impressive. Not many people can survive the wave of forum police we have here. I don’t know why some of us feel...

    Small shaft diameter?

I shoot with an old pro who swears by his giant, 15 mm custom shaft. Though he's a straight pool player, a true center baller.... he says he can get as much spin as I can with my skinny Z-2. We debate this all the time, but still cant prove very much. We both believe what CJ says though, fatter...

    Question about safety play

Early on you can only do so much. So, you play for one ball or the other. Later on when you can see the shots better, control both balls. "I guess another reason I tend to lock up the CB instead of the OB is that sometimes I've locked up the OB so tight that when I get BIH my only option is to...

How come you can run 18, 3 times, but not 54...

I don't think its just a matter of practice or fundamentals. Unless you keep blowing open shots, its not mental either. I think it all boils down to how good you can control your cue ball. Watch a pro move his cue ball around. He doesn't only play for the correct angle on his next shot, he plays...
